DAY ELEVEN : VENICE

Teatro Tonilio : Berenice
Well, that's nearly it folks and, as usual, the last show of any tour is always full of mixed feelings....glad to be going home, and sorry to be leaving everyone else behind. However, everyone had a good day off yesterday, and went into Venice proper to do the tourist bit. Midge and Josh came home with Prada bags much to their great delight. The crew celebrated the end of tour by having a meal at a litttle place near the hotel which was fab! Much rough red wine was consumed from several large jugs. It's carnival time in Venice, which resulted in some good photo opportunities.

The boys are back in town!

The venue is a somewhat sterile theatre, no bar or reasonable backstage area, so we all end squashed into one tiny dressing room

Everyone is really tired after their shopping and sightseeing trips and the backstage mood is somewhat subdued. Things cheer up however when Midge starts talking about "the next one" and the show goes well with a couple of minor technical hitches.

Next morning after the gig, we part company with Alan and Cerise who have a 1400-mile trek back to Bristol in the van, and Midge who is going straight to Vienna (!) for a TV appearance with the in-house band pictured below. The rest of us head home with thoughts of the next set of dates in Germany and Austria whirring round our heads. Here's to the next one!
