The History of Ultravox

Ultravox the Story - Warren Cann interviewed by Jonas WarstadOver a lengthy period of time, Jonas Wårstad has interviewed Warren Cann about his recollections of Ultravox starting at the very beginning in 1974. It makes for fascinating reading as Warren has a terrific memory and eye for detail. The interview has been laid out in book format by Christopher Watson. Our sincere thanks to Warren, Jonas and Christopher for letting us feature this excellent record of Ultravox's history.

Currently standing at 51 pages, the interview finishes just after the Vienna album release, but Warren is hoping to continue at some point when his schedule allows. Therefore, we will name this copy Version 1.0; as updates are performed we will increase the version number (eg. 2.0 would be a major update, whereas 1.1 would be a minor amendment).

The Print PDF is a high-ish resolution version laid out in spreads so that you can print it at home. The Screen PDF is a lower-res, single-page format PDF for those with slower connections. Enjoy!

Overheard

"I don't know anyone else who works as hard as we do. The band exists for that reason. It's why we are what we are. It's not like work, and that's the kick for me. I don't like the idea of having to work but I can do this all hours of the day and night. It's the days off that are hard work".
