EXHIBITION NEWS
Some of my Midge inspired paintings can be seen at an exhibition from 18th February 2009 to 2nd March 2009 at the Brick Lane Gallery

The "Art in Mind" exhibitions display work from a group of 'emerging' international & British artists from all artistic backgrounds.

So if anyone with an interest in contemporary art is in the area during that period please go take a look! Gallery open 12- 6pm daily.

And a huge thank you to the lovely Midge because without all the inspiration from him and his music none of my paintings in recent years would exist and I would not have been offered this opportunity!

PS Trust me to get my chance of exhibiting in London in midst of a recession when folk have a lot less money to spend on non essentials! C'est la vie!

I wish you 'all the best' for this exhibition, and hope you get the recognition your effort and hard work deserves.
I must say I like a lot of your work, and I'm sure they look even better in 'real life'. I can picture them in a gallery, and while they look great individually, as a 'group' I'm sure they'll be stunning!

Best Wishes

Martin

Thank you very much Helen, Lynne and Snash.......appreciated!

Martin you've made my day.....thank you! Yes, the originals do look much better......much more vibrant and 'alive'.......the camera just doesn't capture that.

I'm supposed to be inviting guests and contacts to the preview night but as I may not make it myself I can hardly invite others to it! Depends how shattered I am after Aberdeen...last minute decision I think.
Anyway just a reminder if anyone is in the area please go take a look.....

Thanks Martin!

I've been trying to avoid going to the preview night by finding all sorts of excuses like travel costs, being shattered after the Scotland trip, weather etc etc.....but at the end of the day it's my job....seeing Midge again has psyched me up enough to get me down there tomorrow.....still very nervous though.....might end up having to access the 'free' bar to get me through it!

So if anyone is in the area tomorrow night between 6.30 - 8.30 you'll be welcome ....

Well ..............

How was the preview night?
Did the free bar take a hammering?

Hmmm....difficult to know how to answer that....part of my learning curve I guess but whether it achieved anything useful remains to be seen! It wasn't as daunting as I expected either so only needed one wine! I spent most of the time lurking in the lower gallery where my paintings were to be honest. A very eclectic mix of artwork I must say. Nothing traditional at all so definitely a suitable venue. Even if it's a one off at least I've had the experience..

The most useful thing about the trip was finding my way around London again after all these years.I was quite nervous about that...its been 20 years approx since I last was in London or used the underground.....a trial run for April!

Did you get much interest as far as people coming up & speaking to you about any particular pieces Jen? At least, as you say, it's given you some experience.

I'm quite self effacing so with hindsight I'm not sure how many folk realised I was the artist lol! Mostly other artists who wanted to talk but yes one or two folk.
