Really, I did!! I mean, as much as I'm sure Mr. X would enjoy it...no. :p I'll just stick with public displays of affection. (No "doing" involved!)

Anyway...that song needs that Canadian flair, so who better? wink (Unless the originator himself happens to be there...) smile

Re: Monument gig 26/08/2005 - Sat, 30 Jul 2005 08:33:00

Some notes about Cheshunt for all you peeps thinking of coming on the 26th.

It's on the main line from Liverpool Street - trains take about 25 mins and the last one back leaves at 00:08. There is also a night bus leaving from Walthan Cross (about 1 mile from Cheshunt)

The Hall is about 5 mins walk from the Station - just go straight up the road from the station.

There is a Marriott Hotel about 1 Mile from the gig and we are trying to get a reduced rate there for those who dont want to travel back late at night.

And remember, I'll be standing at the bar buying the beers before the guys come on - please come and say hello!! laugh

Hope to see you all there - lets make this a gig to remember.

Paul.

I intend to be there! Cheshunt's one of those odd places, convenient on the map but a real pain unless driving - and alcohol consumption to happy excess would seem to muddy that option. Let us know what the hotel rates might be, a stop-over could well be the cunningest plan.

Re: Monument gig 26/08/2005 - Sun, 31 Jul 2005 22:08:00

Well friends, I am working on getting a group rate with the Marriott Hotel in Chesthunt. Currently it stands at room only 79.00 or b&b rate of 89.00. I am to speak with their group bookings on Monday and will post further details then. Currently we have rooms booked for the band but it would be great if some of you could stay over. We had a great time in Crewe long into the wee hours of the morning and it would be nice to include as many of you this time round as we can. smile Hope many of you can make it!!

How many people is it physically possible to fit into a room, utilising all vertical surfaces?

Re: Monument gig 26/08/2005 - Mon, 01 Aug 2005 00:11:00

Ok doors open 7.30 - what time are you likely to be on stage? Any ideas yet?

Re: Monument gig 26/08/2005 - Mon, 01 Aug 2005 00:20:00

Flip, plans are for band to be done and dusted by 11:30 at the latest - this will give everyone time to say their goodbyes and still make the last train back to London. So would imagine Monument being on-stage between 9:00 - 9:30. Hope that helps.

Re: Monument gig 26/08/2005 - Tue, 02 Aug 2005 01:43:00

Hotel information:

The best rate we can manage is 80.00 single or 86.00 double occupancy. This in a B&B rate, and is on condition that we are booking a minimum of 10 rooms. If we are unable to guarantee 10 rooms the rate increases to 89.00 for single or double occupancy. This is not much of a savings unfortunately. I have searched and have been unable to find another hotel in the area that is close by. If anyone wishes to book a room to please get back to me as soon as possible.

I will post further details regarding ticket prices and where to purchase tickets by tomorrow. The venue will be selling tickets in their box office so you will be able to purchase tickets over the phone or by internet I believe and pay by credit card if you wish.

I hope we will see many of you at the gig to support Monument and toast in memory of our dear friend Ari Leppa.
