I really was hoping to attend this one, I presumed it was a Saturday night, but as it's a Sunday and my other half is in work really early Monday morning I will have to take the kids to school. frown Bummer.

Re: London Gig Details - Fri, 03 Sep 2010 20:23:00

We are honoured to say we are headlining at this gig.

Yeah, it's a real pity the gig is on a Sunday.
We were asked to play & we felt it was an opportunity, that we really wanted to take advantage of.
It would be great to see familiar faces as well as some newbies on the night too & by all means, please do make yourself known to us at the venue.

What I will say is we plan to play more gigs in the future & possibly in a city / town near you.
We are planning a one off special gig in Glasgow for early in the new year.

More information to follow soon...

Regards...

I'm sure you will. From what I've seen of your live music photography so far I am well impressed. You'll have to smuggle a piglet into the pit next time you get AAA. But is your draw string bag big enough, I ask myself?

Good luck with the Monument gig anyways. wink

Hey folks,

I had the honour of watching MONUMENT twice in 2005 (Crewe and Cheshunt), and as someone correctly described beforehand: if you close your eyes and have had a pint, they sound exactly like the real thing!!!!!!!!!!

Go for it!! I can't - will be in Ibiza...

Yer` Thanks Conny , Rob G did do some good saving on saturday mate , & it did make a good change for the Hammers to beat Spurs for once on homeground / Even if it was only 1-0 , for the last 2 years now Spurs as always beating them on thier home turf mate .

shame i couldn,t make the Monument gig on sunday / hopefully next time when they play London mate .

Brilliant photos Jus - and we've got some fab ones of you taking them LOL! They were really good Pete - shame you couldn't make it but I know what you mean about travel, if we'd have gone for our first choice of hotel it would have been a hassle for us (way out on Hammersmith line!).....Still, maybe next time. laugh

Re: London Gig Details - Tue, 28 Sep 2010 21:20:00

I've landed back at base. Yes a few transport problems at weekend - I went to a gig in Canning Town on the Saturday and got stuck with station closures etc - eventually Bank reopened but there were a few line closures. Sunday was more straight forward. LOVED the venue!!! slightly bigger than the UV venue in Helsinki I have to say!! (well the stage certainly was!) - but it was great! Nice to see everyone - Gillian I KNOW you had a great time - I could see you dancing out of the corner of my eye!! lol I have a uni assignment to hand in this Friday which I have not started yet - so next week I shall go through all the photos. Got to go through Saturday's too as they want ones of a particular guitar that was being used - for some album launch promo. Got a good one of Don doing the drum scene at the end!

The gig was excellent - a few technical hitches but hardly surprising with all that gear !! How much gear on stage? lol. Mine for Life was a VERY pleasant surprise!! and the Voice - was most excellent - played old style - LOTS of PUNCH!!! Loved it. I'm preferring this to the more laid back version of today! Your singer - who's name escapes me as I don't know that much about you guys - is very convincing - image wise and vocally.

Re: London Gig Details - Wed, 29 Sep 2010 21:08:00

Hi guys,

Just a wee note to say a big thanks to all who attended & supported us there on Sunday, we had a great time!
Global Citizen were tight as usual & sounded excellent with their new live drums!

We had a bit of a do during soundcheck, but we managed to tape it together(Cheers to Rich & Steve)
That young lad behind the desk worked hard.
In the end, he managed to come through for both acts.
It does not help, that the Purple Turtle's web site advertises having a 24 channel desk, when only 18 of those channels are free!
Think I'll take me line mixer the next time eh!

Cheers...

Reptile is the name of the promoters , so only two acts. Monument played for well over an hour ( and even though I left as soon as they finished , still only got back to Oxford after 1am after an hours holdup due to the road being dug up around Marylebone )
