Who was the new kind of man?

First time I heard this song I felt it had a strong science-fiction feel, and could have been written about some character from a novel or something. But on later listens I wondered if it could even be about Elvis...

Ideas anybody?

el-vis ... !? nervouslaugh biglaugh

if @ all , then elvis is actually "the ol' kind of man" !!! laugh

honestly ... i suppose that "a new kind of man" & "the quiet man" are not that far away from each others characters !!!
both can maybe described as "future nostalgia" type of characters , which jus' differ in their way of appearance ... but that's jus' me guessin' !!!

anyway ... c u ! smile

Well I know the Elvis suggestion is quite comical - but Better Elvis than Cliff Richard!

I figured it was about a revolutionary individual - such as Elvis - or even Bowie, who pioneered different music 'scenes'.

I'm probably thinking too deep into it rather than just enjoying it for being great music!
