Hi!
I've asked Mike about his equipment in another thread and it sounded very interesting. Are there any photos You may show us including Your live-(rehearsal) setup and (maybe) You (the musicians)?

Greetings!
Nils

Nils, there are a couple of photos in existence...problem is, every time I take a camera to a rehearsal, Sleepy dives for cover or makes rude gestures at the camera...
shock
arnie

At the risk of incurring his wrath, I may post a couple...what do you think, Sleepy ?

....(runs for cover).... viking

hi!
This really wasn't meant to get a photo of Sleepy shown here against his own will! I am just interested in Your setup and how You look while performing. Perhaps You can edit the pics so that we can't recognize Sleepwalker?

One thing comes into my mind now: when You (Sleepwalker) are so afraid of being seen by anyone, how do You want to play keys when You give a concert?
Like Peter Gabriel did: with a fox-mask?? laugh

Its quite traumatic, really....Sleepy, being a Heart of Midlothian supporter, is not used to crowds.... laugh
He has suggested hiding behind a bottle of Jack Daniels... :p hic!

Well, I wouldn't know. It's just for Sleepy, that he does not need to show his face here (I wonder what he is afraid of, but I accept that he doesn't want it). Don't You have a rubber-mask of Nixon or Reagan or someone like that You can use?? wink Or maybe a Darth Vader helmet (I think You know what I mean) laugh .

Mike, maybe You can post one of the pics where Sleepy dives for cover.

What equipment do/did Sleepy, Davy and Gavin use? I know that You (Mike) use a red Strat and lots of Boss pedals and I know that You have SS30s.

Hi Minge, Beef, Zig and Total!!

Thanks for listing the equipment! Looking forward to Your pics!

Mike: did You manage to recreate Midge Ures guitar sound on "Man of Two Worlds"? If "yes", could You tell me which effects (and their settings) are needed?

Nils,
we haven't played MOTW yet...but listening to it, it just soundds like an overdriven/distorted guitar with a few harmonics thrown in....(if indeed they are harmonics and not incidental keyboard notes in the same register...)

When we get round to rehearsing it properly I'll let you know what I'm doing to try to capture the sound... smile

Hi Mike!

I know that the sound on "MOTW" is nothing very special, but I love it. And I tried to create the sound with the equipment I have, but didn't get a very satisfying result.
Just for interest: the chords Midge plays are:
Cminor
G#
Fminor
G

I think the best is to play them this way (works very well for a full and distorted sound:
E.g. Cminor:
10th fret: the first finger on the A-string, the D-string
12th fret: the ringfinger on the G-string
13th fret: the little finger on the B-String
(but I'm sure you know this)
it doesn't matter if You play minor or major there btw, it's just like a doubled powerchord (I nearly always play that way).

Thanks for the pics! Nice to "meet" You!
Sleepy, Your setup seems to change from day to day?
I saw that You didn't sell Your Roland JD-800. Good choice! I emailed Mike my JD-soundbank (syx-file), perhaps there are some sounds You can use for something?

Greetings
Nils
