I'm with Sleepy on that one - The Thin Wall promo poster I have has been framed and hanged in every dwelling in which I've...dwelled
. A classic piece of artwork.
I have so much UVX memorabilia packed away I have no idea what all I have. One day soon I will sort it all out. I know I have the RIE tie pin (sorry, not for sale) and the RIE tie with the logo at the bottom (ditto). I do have a couple of 'rare' German tour posters from the RIE and Quartet eras. Tons of magazines, pins/buttons, tour programmes, t-shirts, and I think every 7 and 12 inch that came out (autographed and not, clear and black vinyl), along with some unofficial bootlegs. And yes, the exquisite Japanese "Hymn" 12" EP with laser-etched rim is a truly beautiful and prized possession.
However, I think my most prized possession in this realm is actually not an Ultravox piece but related - my original release "The Anvil" CD. Sentimentally, my personal favourite piece is the clear vinyl 12 inch of no one's favourite (
) UVX song "We Came to Dance." From the simple but stunning artwork to the 12" extended mix, it is overflowing with the most treasured memories of that time for me.
Every vinyl release they created was a work of art from the cover to the music, even often the record label (i.e. "The Voice" 12 inch). It's a lost art and I mourn its death. Still in love with the glory of the vinyl 12 inch...
(...er, vinyl 12 inch record
, that is...
