Ten Gallon Bratz (TGB) Home Page Quite a distance away from the music of Ultravox, Ten Gallon Bratz (TGB) were the support at the first Monument gig. As both a three piece acoustic and five piece full band, this project of songwriters Barrie Kelly and Mark Dunsmore have just launched their own website in preparation for the release of their new CD "Close, But No Guitar". Citing influences of Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett and Crowded House, their music is melodic Americana with intelligent lyrics, lush harmonies and catchy guitar lines. Oh, and the bass player looks familiar... Where have I seen him before ?

For anyone interested and in the Glasgow area next week... Ten Gallon Bratz are appearing in an acoustic session as part of the Celtic Connections music festival on Thursday 19th January 2006 at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Open Stage - 5pm-7pm. Entrance is FREE... For those who don't know, the Celtic Connections is the largest winter traditional music festival in the world. Its Open Stage showcases up and coming talent by giving them a short (usually around 20 mins) spot in the Concert Hall. The event is usually very well attended (especially since it is FREE) and the 6 best acts are invited back for an end of Festival concert. Information on the Celtic Connections is available here with information on the Open Stage available here
