Jus And I thought Rob was showing of [/b] I'm currently in the process of trying to learn how to speak Japanese. I'm usually really bad when it comes to picking up other languages (I was hopeless and French and German at school), but last year I was lucky enough to get to go to Tokyo with John Foxx and Louis Gordon as they had been invited to play some shows over there. Although we were only there for a few days I completely fell in love with Japan - and so I'm determined to be 'better prepared' for when I return next year. If anyone's interested, I started a Blog on the Metamatic Website while I was there, but ended up not really having that much time to keep it updated. All of the following pics were taken at various places around Tokyo - and (hopefully) give a snapshot to some of the things we saw along the way... The final set were taken at the shows themselves. I hope that the energy comes across. Everyone certainly seemed to be having a great time... Rob

始めましてとおるさん。私はバリです。
日本のどこに住んでいますか?
Thanks Rob for the pictures again. I really enjoyed the gigs. I was standing about five yards behind you, I think. I should have said hello. Sorry, mate.

日本のどこに住んでいますか? I'm afraid that you're going to have to help me out here as I'm totally unable to read any Japanese... Originally posted by Poyns: Thanks Rob for the pictures again. I was in the middle on the first night, and to the right (in front of Louis) on the second night. You should've said hello - it would've been good to have met up... Rob

Rob!!! No Way!!!!! That is totally AWESOME!!!! You dont know how long I've been waiting to see a gig in Japan - its on my list! I'd be interested to read abotu your time there etc so I will check out your blog as soon as I can! Wow again! The pictures look amazing. Well it seems theres lots of expertise around to help me plan my time in Japan - I'm thinking of getting over next year and seeing whatever is on offer gig wise plus catching some sights. I was rather hoping Ultravox would get over there I had a vision of going there for a while and teaching English or something - crazy vision from someone who does not know much Japanese at all!! Ah well.... Superb! Jus

I'm a big fan of Japanese electronic music myself. I had the pleasure of seeing Ryuichi Sakamoto, as well his ex-wife, Akiko Yano perform in NYC.
I just wished that HASYMO will perform in NYC one day.

Thank you for your reply. More than a pleasure. I see that you are from Shizuoka Prefecture. That's the birthplace of one of my favorite Neo-Soul singers, Toshinobu Kubota!
