Sleepy finally made it back to the highlands by 0220 hrs. His entire journey was longer than the concert, but hey he managed to sample the 'best fish in the north east' and Mike managed a Hawaiian Burger (oh alright, burger with pineapple) so it was all worth it in the end... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="cool.gif" />

I most certainly did and unfortunately the wee one, having been playing around with the remote control, has managed to program it so that one scene keeps playing over and over.... there's only so many times I can hear the ice cream story without cracking up!

Strange thing about my copy is that when you start, the Menu has no focused/highlighted item, you have to press the cursor keys to get a highlight If you just hit enter when unfocused it goes straight to the 'Ice Cream story' and any attempt to return to the menu causes the disc to hang...just a minor irritation, everything elses seems to work... wink

I'm curious as to how much that cost to make as I think 17 is too expensive for that item. I'm not saying it's crap or owt, just that Midge's profile is pretty low atm. Just thinking that if Midge wants to sell outside of the dedicated fan circle, it would have been better at a cheaper price (obviously ensuring initial costs were recouped...).

As I have said in the "Here and Now" thread, it was nice to meet you Sleepy, Mike L, Si and Helen last night at the gig. Unfortunately it was too brief for my liking but looking forward to hopefully getting time off for the Edinburgh voxgate next month and having a proper chinwag with you guys. smile

I'm back at work next week so I'll suss it out then.

Yeah, a bit strange about Belinda Carlisle not coming back on for Do They Know It's Christmas. In fact I thought it was also a bit weird how she walked off just before the end of her set leaving the band still playing and Shelly Preston still singing the backing vocals, leaving her to receive the bulk of the audience applause whilst Belinda was long gone. bemused

Still, a good night. Have to admit that the hairs on the back of my neck stood up a bit when Midge sang the opening lines to Hymn (his first of the night) - it brought back a few memories from my time watching the band live. All it needed was Billy, Warren and Chris to have been there as well.......whoops I'm drifting off to fantasy island again!! eek

Cerise,
cut and paste from another topic....
Its a pre-release version of the Sampled, Looped and Trigger Happy tour, entitled 'If I Was'. The DVDs are only available at tour venues until after Christmas when it will be available on the MidgeUre.com website. The official release is next March.

Well, it will be cheaper on MidgeUre.com in the new year, but the venues take a 25% + VAT facility fee and you have to pay the merchandisers as well! As for what it cost, 4 and a half months of blood sweat tears and toil.

Fair enough, I hadn't considered the Arena taking a percentage as well. I take it then that distribution costs means we're unlikely to see this in our local HMV either? Shame really if that's the case as it's the impulse buyers that we really need to pick up on this sort of release...

Aye!
the plan is a dual release, the DVD and, available seperately, an audio CD from the same tour (but different show/s) which includes New Europeans (not on the DVD) and a new instrumental, Tomorrow. The acoustic section is not on the CD.
