Hi all,
I'm Andy (otherwise known as Mo's Lotion...Think about it, you'll get there!), I'm an ex pro keyboard player now an IT Manager, who had very little time to listen to anything.
Thanks to modern technology, I've re-discovered Ultravox... Just got an iPod and ripped all my CD's, and seemed to have got stuck listening to all of Ultravox's albums, instead of getting the rest of the job done.
I'd forgotten just how good Ultravox were... did a search and came up with this excellent site.
I only saw them live 3 times, twice in 1978 (I think!)at The Marquee and two days later at Reading Festival, and once during the Vienna tour.
I got into playing keyboards because of Billy's outrageous lead sound on The Man Who Dies... I'd never heard anything like it, so I got myself an Odyssey and a Hohner K4 String machine, and have been paying a fortune for "Toys" ever since.
I am thinking of submitting a "cover" track or two for the February comp, but sadly, I can't and won't sing... but may use some modern jiggery pokery to get something down...
Enough for now... Have to get on with work!
Thanks to all of you for re-igniting my interest.
