Hello

Not exactly new - I am the quiz setter from the early EVs shock - but now that times are getting hard I have decided to retreat into the land known as the 1980s - so much safer...... We're all much older, perhaps not much wiser, but certainly more hacked off..... arnie

Hi there!
Well, and looking back we know that things can really get worse wink . All this late 80s Stock/Aitken/Waterman stuff or Milli Vanilli and Roxette were by far no masterpieces of popmusic and really hard to stand, but what the hell happened during the 90s?? All those dancefloor-acts like Scooter, Culture Beat, Twenty4Seven, Captain Hollywood etc. or the huge amount of boygroups. When Sparks came back in '94 it was like salvation! Sadly only them, Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel and REM really helped to survive the 90s. And now? It's not really that much better. Music itself is not that bad as in the 90s, but then again it is nothing special at all. All polished, no experiments. Sad.

Hey Gillian, couln't You perhaps do a retro-quiz to help us through this hard post-80s times? wink

Oooh I can see I'm going to have to dig my Smash Hits year books out then...... leave it with me (it may take a while as they're in the loft excited )

Little one to keep you going here. Six degrees of separation - get from Warren Cann to 1940s film star Mary Astor in 6 "easy" goes.....

Recessions often bring more interesting and / or experimental and credible music; in the 80s we had great Post-Punk stuff, and also the recession of the early 90s produced Grunge. Perhaps people get sated with materialism and look for something deeper. So am trying to be hopeful, lol.

Welcome back Gill !! :p
