With great pleasure, I have just seen the web-trailer for the upcoming "Schiller" Double-CD (http://www.atemlos.tv/).

Midge is mentioned to be participating! Whow.
From the tracklist: "Let It Rise - with Midge Ure"

Cheers
Tom

Hi all,

finally, the collaboration between Midge and Schiller is out. It can be bought as a single track from Amazon and iTunes (Germany).

In general, the new Schiller album seems to received mixed reviews (I must admit, it´s the first Schiller album I have not bought but downloaded a few individual tracks instead).

Nevertheless, the track which Midge wrote together with Christopher sounds really great and some reviewers on iTunes say that it´s definitely a highlight on the album.

Check it out and enjoy :-)

Cheers
Thomas

Thanks for the info. laugh
I'm on the case wink

The Schiller albums are very much a mixed bag. There's a few dodgy vocalists on some of the tracks but the music itself is excellent. Check this one out...
I Feel You - Schiller (featuring Peter Heppner)

I originally downloaded all the Schiller albums and liked them so much I bought the originals.
Leben, Weltreise, Tag Und Nacht are the best of the bunch. There's a couple of excellent album tracks featuring Mike Oldfield and Clannad's Maire Brennan.

I cheekily added some Schiller music to a slideshow on my website last year. You can check it out here

Schiller - Worth checking out cool

I've also tried and failed to download 'Let it Rise' from Amazon.de ... so I'm hoping it'll get onto the UK site eventually as I love what I've heard of the song so far.

Just heard about this from Mike Lubek yesterday and Let it Rise is a beautiful song. You can hear an extract here .

It is available in the UK, via Amazon Marketplace ('used or new available' option, but they're all new as it only came out on March 12th). It's not cheap, starting at £21.67 - but it's only slightly cheaper at Amazon Germany and you have European postage on top of that, so it's about the same. See the Midge Ure section of our Amazon Store:

http://astore.amazon.co.uk/extremevoice-21

It's not yet available on iTunes or through Amazon UK other than Marketplace, but you can get it through Amazon.de .

We'll add this to the next Newsletter, later this week.

Absolutely brilliant! Thanks for the link Lisa.

I haven't got spare cash for the CD at present which is why I was hoping to download just the song ... I'll have to try again with amazon.de.

You can download the single track from amazon. I did it, because I wanted only that song, and not the entire album. wink
I Think ITunes has it as well as a single download.

Me? Chancellor? Oh no, now Rodney has found out why I was wearing that suit! shocked

Yeah Mandy, it's a great song and I'm not sick of it yet, despite giving it overkill on the ipod. smile As for Schiller's other stuff - it's very much a mixed bag. Some naff stuff in there amongst some gems. Check out youtube as there'a good selection of Schiller goodies on there. Stick yer toe in the watta and see what happens.

Meanwhile...

Something in the atmosphere
tangible and crystal clear,
something in your attitude
shows me how you´re great and good,

Lost in your world locked in forever,
Oh let it rise

Lookin´for your light to shine
radiate from heart and mind,
send a signal from your soul
meditate and ease control,

Lost in your world locked in forever,
Oh let it rise,
Oh let it rise

Penetrate your secret walls
drop the mask and let it fall,
hid from harm and wrapped in fear
everything you ever wanted
everything is here but you´re just,

Lost in your world locked in forever,
Oh let it rise,
Oh let it rise

Brilliant lyrics!!

Sunday morning - cleaning and tidying time with some tunes and I'll now be singing along nicely (luckily drowned out by the Dyson wink )

Definately think 'Let It Rise' is the best of Midge's collaborations, quite liking 'Smile' as well - bit of a departure but it works.

Just wish there were as many mixes of 'Let It Rise' as there are 'Personal Heaven' bemused

And now there's a live recording of Let It Rise in high definition. Midge gives it some, and more...
