Ummm.... not quite sure what was kicking off in the 100th post thread, but since it has been closed before I had a chance to say anything:

As my name came up a few times, I would like to apologise to anyone I may have inadvertantly seemed to be taking the p*** out of (namely Newvox and Maryann). This was not the intention; my initial comment was a joke flirt in response to a comment by Newvox; all in good humour, I promise! (I'd done the same with Phil earlier in the evening).

Any comments I have made involving other forum members have been meant with best intentions as gentle banter - which seems to be in the spirit of much on the forum - and I am truly sorry if any offence has been caused.

Unfortunately I am seldom online at the same time many of you are exchanging posts, but nonetheless, I still like to join in with the banter!

Hopefully the subject is now done and dusted; this is not posted with the intention of reopening the subject, but just my belated response.

Now... over to the 'Jokes' section....

Natalie - I don't think you have anything to apologise for. I can't speak for Newvox but I'm not aware Maryann was offended by anything you said either. Quite why all those posts generated yesterday I really can't fathom.

Don't let it stop you enjoying the forum. smile

Natalie: You have no need to apologise to me. Flirting or pi** taking, i was ok about it.
I think you dont feel the need for me to say sorry either, as me going to bed was not rudeness. If i had stayed online i would have been boring company anyway, in some matters i stay in one place only.

The only time i noticed there was a problem was when Helen made those posts about Maryann and me.
I dont (totally) know how that happened, or why Helen decided to never talk to me again. I was the one who apologised for things i had not done, plus her real problem was with Maryann's post.

There have been emails sent to me in support and claiming reasons for what happened. However i dont want people thinking bad of Helen, as i dont. We all typed things in defence and anger yesterday, but it was helen who offered the most support when i came back a few months ago.

I would like to apologise to Robert though, as i did become part of that 'nonsense' while having the sense to try and apologise for doing nothing wrong. As i thought that may of stopped it even sooner.

Natalie: Don't sweat it! I was having a laugh about everything and I guess my sense of humor doesnt always translate well. Glad to hear you were not offended (I honestly didn't think you were.... I thought you were holding it against me that I got to snorkel in the GBR.....hahaha....just kidding). If you get the Discovery Channel, shark week is kicking off soon.

BTW: If you ever want details about where we stayed, etc, etc drop me a PM. Did I tell you we also got to see those weird giant clams? I kept on thinking of those old underwater type movies where someone gets stuck in one!!

Okay; my stance is that this issue has already been done and dusted when Cerise intervened and banged our heads together. So i don't see why Helen should apologize as she didn't open up this can of worms again (no offence Natalie).

I'm afraid on this one I totally disagree - utterly and completely. Quite a lot was said that really was quite unpleasant and...mistakenly as it turns out. Therefore an apology is due. Natalie's apologised (although she's said nothing to apologise for), Newvox has also - although he did nothing to apologise for either.

And that's done and dusted then? BOLLOCKS it is.
Just because Cerise shut the thread does NOT mean everything is "done and dusted"...

Ive spoken with Helen privately so all i will say is were talking together ok.
Maryann and Helen knows im talking to them both and are ok about that. How they are with each other will be between them.

Newvox, I knew you about you and Helen already - so you being dragged into yesterday's goings on wasn't what I was referring to.

Bad manners really wind me up - in the virtual world as well, where people think they can say what they like with no come backs and it "doesn't matter".

Some people on this board are gracious enough to admit when they're in the wrong (even when they're not).

Some people obviously aren't. And everyone can now see that.

Since we seem to want to personalize everything; i will own up precisely to what i said - 3 words. "aah thats SWEET" now that was possibly a bit legpulling but no great shakes in the offensiveness stakes. I apologize if anyone is that thin skinned.

Newvox, now what would Maryann actually apologise for? Helen totally getting the wrong end of the stick and launching off on one?

Hopefully that answers your question; and I'm sure you're not thick, btw.

I did type out a long reply but i lost it.....

So this is a shortened version!.......

I have deliberately avoided this thread, but you want me to post on it so I will........

1: Surely the whole point in Cerise closing the thread was to put an end to it?!

2: Why are you deliberately shit stirring Flip? You are demanding an appology and yet it had absolutely nothing to do with you! You keep pushing to keep it going, and you a moderator too, shame on you!
3: There will be no appology! I have re-read the thread with my calm head on and it still reads the same as it did yesterday. The animosity and bad feeling were caused by Maryann's out of context post. That is what started it all, perhaps Maryann's apology should end it! If you took the trouble of checking your facts and ACTUALLY READING the content of the thread, you would see it was NOT ME was was misunderstanding! Everything I said was perfectly clear and yet it was misinterpreted! (on purpose i presume)
4:I will not be bullied into submission by a sweetie wife who finds entertainment in watching other peoples arguements. I only admit I am wrong when I actually am wrong!
5: It is interesting that whenever there is some kind of discorse on the forum, you are always there to stoke the fire Flip...... Surely you official capacity would be to try to resolve issues, not aggrivate them?

I will stop now..... no matter what I say will be twisted and turned, misinterpreted and made to fit your own warped perseption. As I asked yesterday, just leave me alone!

So i spend two days talking to Maryann and Helen to try and bring a peacful end to the matter, only for as helen said a moderator to do this.

When i said good night to Helen and Natalie is was because i was going to bed.
it was not because i started trouble, then ran like hes just done.

So if hes right that its bad manners to not say sorry, we should all be getting one from him when he 'wakes up'.

[EDIT] 23:20 I have just re read this thread which was started by a forum member, and were all members involved in a previous problem were well on our way to reaching an understanding.

All that was needed was just two people 'Helen' and 'Maryann' to speak on the forum again, even if they never apologised.

The only person to stop progress was this so called moderator. Hopefully Cerise will help Flip to remember what a moderators job is all about.

Arrghh! Can of worms!! icky The last thing I wanted to open! Well I won't say the 's' word again; just that the main reason I posted this thread was to have my say, as the other thread had been closed.

Flip - can you clarify the TF thing please; you know by now how nosey I am, and can't bear not to know what cryptic stuff means!

Newvox - Of course I knew you had gone to bed cos tired; it was late!

Maryann - how could I possibly resent someone who has snorkelled the GBR when I get to go up to murky training quarries in Leicester practically every weekend?! And no, you didn't mention the clams; I've seen biggish ones in the Red Sea, but I know the ones you mean; they are really cool!

Anyway - let's get back to the jokes and banter (and even some chat about music shock ) in the other threads. I'm just sorry i can't join in when most of you are online at the mo; it'd be better to be in the actual flow of the conversation cry

Well naughty me - a moderator suggesting someone owes someone an apology for kicking off on the forum. What was I thinking?

"very good at playing the victim" indeed. Not half. Sheesh.

As no-one apparently wants this to drag on further, there's no point in me addressing every point raised in my absence. Helen, you and I have different interpretations of what went on and no amount of re-reading will change your or my mind; on that basis, I will gladly "leave you alone" now, unless anything kicks off again - same as for anyone else on the forum; whether I'm a moderator then or not.

Remember this though. I don't "do" favouritism. If my interpretation had been that Maryann had indeed said inflammatory stuff to anyone it would have been her I was suggesting should apologise. You may not believe that but it's true.

Flip: From my view i know you said Natalie and i had no reason to apologise, and i would of thanked you for that if you had stayed online slightly longer.

There was (from the big argument) only Maryann and Helen to converse on forum for things to be normal again.
I take your point that if bad words are spoken then there should be an apology, but if neither side will, (then i was until last nights flare up)bringing them on forum.

As I said elsewhere, people disagree and don't like each other all the time and guess what, who cares? What bothers me is all this talk of how people are "pretending" to "help" others get back to being "friends". What is that about? Did I miss the bus on this one? I really do not know what that means, sorry. All one can hope for in a real or virtual world is civility. And I believe that has been achieved.

Natalie: My husband and I discussed the fish I was referring to in my earlier post : it is called a damselfish and for something that tiny it was quite the defender. We had a laugh once we figured out the deal and then to have a bigger laugh, we didnt tell the boatload of Japanese tourists (no offense meant please) who wanted to get close to the giant clams and take millions of pics. That little guy attacked all of them. We almost choked underwater laughing so hard.
