Welcome, all! The forum may seem a little big and confusing at first, but it's all broken down into categories - just have a good explore and you'll get the hang of it. wink

A useful little feature is the Today\'s Active Topics page, which shows you any ongoing conversations that day. Currently, this resets at midnight - but when we upgrade the board, it will show you active topics from the previous 24 hours.

If you fancy having a nice, custom photo avatar like many people have on here, just email a photo of yourself along with your name and member number to me, Cerise (I'm the Administrator of this board / website, along with Rob Harris smile ) to ev@ultravox.org.uk. I'll do the rest.

If you have any questions or problems, you can ask Rob and I about it, or any of our lovely new Moderators - their names will be listed at the entry of each Forum in a few days. They're here to help you, and we promise they don't bite! wink

There are many other areas of this website, which you can access via the QuickMenu drop-down at the top right of this page - the biggest bit being the Media Archive. Lots of stuff will go in here as soon as I get a bit of time to spend on it! Photos (mostly previously unseen, from Midge and Chris' own archives), lyrics, sound files, discography, gigography, Ultravox logos and fonts, wallpapers, press clippings, you name it. The categories there give you some idea of what will be there soon. Please have a little patience, as some of this stuff takes a long time to compile - for example, we have over 10,000 transparencies to scan from Midge and Chris and we can only get around 20 or 30 done on a good day. But trust us, there's lots of good stuff to go on and you'll start seeing it very soon.

Most of all... welcome, and have fun! laugh

Hi
Firstly I'd like to thank Cerise and Rob for all the hard work they put in running this site.
Although I visit the site regularly I'm not an avid "poster" on the site. wink

One thing would be nice is "spell check". I,m not the worlds best at spelling. Thought for the future?

I'm first and foremost a John Foxx fan. This is where I do most posting.
It's a shame that some of the older forum members have disappeared but thats life.

What has been the most pleasureable part is meeting some of the regulars in real life, most recently at Brighton.
Regards
Peter smile smile smile smile

Thanks Peter! smile

I'll be upgrading the board shortly, but alas I'm pretty sure it doesn't inlude a spell checker... sorry! frown If it helps, you can edit your post once it's there though, by clicking on the edit post' icon. wink

With regard to old board members, I'm hoping that with the addition of moderators - who will also drive topics of conversation as well as 'keep the peace' - to be able to tempt them back into the fold. Once I've got some other new content up over the next few dyas, I'll send out an email broadcast to everyone. Fingers crossed!

Cerise, if you would like any transparencies scanned I can help. I understand the value of them if they're from Midge and Chris's personal collection so they would be looked after. I have a dedicated film/slide scanner with an ICE facility that removes dust and scratches. It scans at 3600 dpi too !!! eek

All scans will be transferred to cd/dvd.

The offer is there anyway....... wink

CP - thanks m'love, much appreciated! laugh

Might well take you up on that if Royal Mail can be trusted to get some of 'em to you! Got a Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 here, does a nice job (Digital ICE filter here too, fantastic thing) but it ain't half slow work.

Just let me get myself straight with email, mods charter and stuff and I'll drop you a line.

Cheers m'dear! kiss
Cerise.
