The Buxton gig was superb and being full of energy the next day I spent a very wet and muddy day exploring Buxton Country Park, Grin Low Woods and Poole's Cavern accompanied by lots of Midge & Ultravox music. Here are a few of the pics...

Poole’s Cavern with it’s incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations and some very evocative imagery lol! wink

Apparently if folk keep touching these stalagmites the oils excreted from the skin turns the tips from reddish/orange to a blackish colour over time. The cavern really was awesome and impossible to capture on camera...I couldn't get any decent shots that conveyed the size of the place or showed the river flowing through it.The lighting limits what you can capture anyway but it wasn't helped that I had to avoid the xmas lights they'd decked it out in ready for the kids to visit Santa's Grotto next week. A 2 million year old Grotto! Bizarre but great for the kids!

A view of Buxton from Solomon's Temple...highest point above Buxton and very windy...just as I got to the top of the hill and the wind really picked up 'reap the wild wind' started playing lol.

It was raining when most of the pics were taken so nothing special but hopefully I'll get back there one day when the light is better.

Thanks Scott! And a few more...

Reaping the wild wind from my lonely platform on top of the tower.

And some more from Poole's Cavern...

Frozen waterfall.

The longest stalactite in Derbyshire known as the 'Flitch of Bacon'.

Love teh view from the temple - I'd love to visit that place - been to Buxton a few times but not that site. Also the vibe created by the pictures and of course the music to go with it makes it all the better! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing smile
