The original was in colour, but being a digital SLR camera it gives an option afterwards to change to B/W, sepia or in this case Cyanotype (blue tint). smile

Thanks Jojo. Photography for me is a hobby that has stepped up a gear or so in the last few months. Still building cars for a living, but I live in hope...he he. wink

Here's a long exposure that I captured a few weeks ago inside Penshaw Monument, Tyne & Wear. My little lad came with me as I took a few shots to stitch together for a Panoramic image - which is currently showing on my site 'Intro Page'. Once I'd bagged the shots I wanted and the sky darkened I took this shot of the little fella with a torch that I had in my camera bag.
From memory I recall a 15 second exposure.
Anyway, here it is...

Crackin' shot of the monument Ash, I was in the North East in August, staying near to Bamburgh, the coastline was outstanding, it was my intention to go the Farne Islands to take some pics but the weather was too bad to sail unfortunately. frown

I've just had an idea - I do occasionally get them & some are rubbish!!

I've never been fanatical about photography. However, the ones I have looked at since joining the forum I've really enjoyed & it got me thinking......

It's too late for 2009, but why don't forum members get together & do a 2010 calendar of their work? If I was choosing work on a 2009 calendar, three of my favourites off the top of my head I've seen recently are Ash's "ghostly encounter", Jojo's shot of the Lake District & Maryann's shot of the lake with the colour of the trees. That would be brilliant for one of the Autumn months.

Maybe a poll could be set up so forum members could nominate their favourite shots. Also, how about doing it as a charity fundraiser - charity of the photographers'choice? Good idea - or have I really lost the plot?

You are not alone. Lots of New Yorkers rarely step foot out of the city and are amazed to discover what is right outside the city.

I realise this may not be a perfect photograph, however it was an amazing sight to behold, there must have been about 500+ geese coming into roost, this was taken about 5-6 weeks ago, in an area about 10 miles outside Liverpool. smile

Thats the kind I prefer taking too...... natural beauty, the changing seasons and light....trees and water seem to be recurring themes.

Btw if you look back to page 4 of this thread Cerise has given guidance on how to upload pics .

A few more of Conny's Pigtures...

This Autumn shot was taken in early November 2008, in Barnes Park, Sunderland.

This next shot was taken last Sunday morning in my back garden. A touch of frost.

The last 3 were taken this morning.
Newcastle Quayside.

Inside The Sage, Gateshead.

H. that's an absolutely excellent shot of the Elan Valley tower.Love the colours/reflections in the water.

Ash, my favourite of your recent pics on this thread has to be the autumn one....its that glorious colourful tree that does it! I was looking back over some of your other pics on this thread and another one that stood out for me was the Roker pier....loved the sky.

Its been great to see a much wider variety of photographers posting on here. I love the scenic views that quite aside from their artistic merits enable one to do some 'vicarious travelling' to places one might not ever get to visit on a physical reality. So keep the flow coming folks!

Mrs Havocman and myself spent about 3/4 of an hour stood near this tower on the bridge taking 'photos of the mist as it moved around the reservoir in the fantastic November sunshine. I'll see if I can dig a couple of them out and post them. Elan is one of the most beautiful places that we have ever visited and is worth the trip just to see the red kites and buzzards circling above.

Lovely pictures from the other contributors to this thread as well.

Great shots as usual.

Hey Ash, did you hear about a replica/model of the Angel that was on Antiques Roadsow & was valued at a million quid? I didn't see the programme but heard about it in the media.

Snashy, I watched that particular episode of Antiques Roadshow as it was filmed at the Sage Gateshead and someone I know was filmed with his wartime memorabilia. Yes, there was a bronze model of the Angel which was valued at 1 million!!! Apparently the highest valuation of the whole series.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments.
Appreciated. laugh
