Fermin, your English is fine.

We all still live in hope that all of the Visage albums will be remastered one day with all relevant B-sides,12" mixes etc included.m For now we have to put up with reissues or compilations containing often irrelevant tracks whilst the goodies are ignored.

Well Ultravox joining Universal could be a game-changer, given Midge's involvement with Visage. Let's hope so.

I think someone may be holding out hope for Midge and Billy to get involved with Visage, can't think what else that means...

Much as I'd love that to happen, I suspect its the furthest thing from the mind of either.

I'm not a Visage fan, never have been particularly despite Billy & Midge's involvement, but I personally don't think vocally Steve is up to making a new album but I'm prepared to stand corrected if he is....technology is a wonderful things these days!!

The reason I say this is I saw him on a "Here & Now" 80s show quite some time ago. It may have been the one Paul Young was the "This Is Your Life" subject or thereabouts. At the end of the Visage set....he was booed off by a quite a few people. I actually felt embarrassed for him!! It really was dreadful.

Well, I havenīt seen Steve, but you should keep in mind that sometimes technical things get in your way on stage, like "you donīt hear yourself" etc.

Also, I really doubt that there are many live bands out there who donīt use technology on their live vocals. If - due to cost reasons - somebody like Steve does only have limited backup here, then I can imagine that things go wrong.

BTW: Two days ago, I have seen a recent live concert by Brian Ferry on TV and was wondering why he sounded so off-pitch most of the time? Not everyone sounds as good as Ultravox live :-)

Cheers
Thomas

lots of poor vocal performances from Steve on YouTube - one of the worst must be the couple of links on this thread

Not one of Steve's finest moments, to be honest. But hey, did you notice 'Sleepwalker' in the crowd? Bottom left corner of screen, about 32 seconds in! The boy gets about a bit, eh. wink

I can be heard on a youtube clip shouting "YEAHHH" at the end of "Sleepwalk" performed by a band I have got to know - Electro 80s - at a gig last year!! Hadn't realised it was being filmed shocked or I'd have shouted louder!! smile

The intro to their version of "Underpass" totally blew me away when I first heard it on CAT FM & I knew I was in for a treat. They brilliantly cover a variety of 80s electronic tracks including "Fade To Grey".

Yes I agree Tom & I'm trying to word this as tactfully as I can - unfortunately his poor performance wasn't technical it was physical. If you heard him on the London Today/Tonight clip regarding The Blitz Club you'll get a clearer picture of what I mean!!

Depends whether he's drugged and drunk I suppose - which i suspect may have been teh case in the past.

Re Blitz - I personally thought he seemed pretty much together. I've seen worse lets put it that way!!!

This is what I was referring to Desolate Angel ......his past excesses seriously affected his performance vocally that night I saw him!!

Then again Ozzy has indulged in the past & to me vocally it doesn't seem to have affected him in the way it has Steve. Can't recall the late great Brian Connolly sounding too bad either when I saw him around 1991. When a mate of mine saw him in Birmingham he had to be helped onto the stage!!

Well, I was thinking in lines of getting Universal interested in the back catalogue.

With Midge now on the same label and perhaps interested in doing somethng new with that band, then there's even more chance the older material will get dusted down.

Here's hoping.

Highly unlikely and I really don't think Midge could ever work with Steve Strange in a studio ever again. Would be nice to see the 1st Visage album getting the deluxe remaster treatment by Universal.

I heard that Midge had written a song for the new album as had Chris Payne - could have heard wrong though - there are that many rumours....you never know whats true. If that is the case then it sounds promising.

MMMM...the first time I met Midge was in the Jam House in Brum (Daren and Jan were there if memory serves) when I had a chat with Midge he was talking about a load of different ideas...one was doing something with the Japan guys again, and one was putting a "Visage Mk 2" together....well we all know that hell does freeze over from time to time...I wouldn't put money against something happening

laugh
