I just managed to finish his autobiography and boy was he in the limelight!

It's good to hear him, fully recovered and enthusiastic to carry on where he left off with the Strange Cruise album.

If only Visage could re-form to tour Visage/The Anvil. We've had Ultravox, The Rich Kids, Magazine and...Visage?

the last thing you want to hear is Steve singing live - judging by any of the recent clips that have been posted on Utube eek

OMG I think he needs more of the SW Wales breeze!

The sound from Visage Mk II was at least miles better.

Did Steve and Rusty perform together this year or last year? Is there a link to that performance?

Cheers

As far as I know the only time they have appeared together was for last years "Pop Goes the Band" TV programme on Living TV ( do a search round the forum to find the relevent threads ) which ended with a short totally mimed performance. Cannot find any clips of this show anywhere

VISAGE was formed by Midge Ure and Rusty Egan selecting the musicians from their favourite bands Magazine and Ultravox as both bands had created pioneering music ignored by the mainstream and both bands were available. having the time at EMI Studio from The demise of The Rich Kids demo’s were recorded. Steve Strange was my friend and selected as the Front Man as the band were happy to remain in the background and continue with other projects..... Steve in fact had the most amazing band and writers and he went on to promote the music so insanely over the top that Mdge and Billy decided enough was enough and as Ultravox were now thanks to Visage , reformed and Midge Ure was now the lead singer, and took Robin Simons job as well, Billy had to be convinced by Rusty that this was a great move...... Rusty went to the USA with the band and everyone loved that tour it was the beginning of the new injection of life the remaining members needed to bring Ultravox to the top of the charts a year later..... So VISAGE helped form the new Ultravox.

Visage never intended to perform as a band.... it was a project....and the Blitz Club was the stage for everyone to get on.... and we look back in amazement and love for that special time.... all the rest is as they say History.....

Thanks a lot for the insight, Rusty - much appreciated.

Just listened to the latest compilation "The Face..." but think that the new Fade To Grey mixes are quite bad. How can one destroy such a brilliant song? At least there are some geat maxi versions which makes me buy it smile
