Hmmm, All Music Guide review of Zero Zero (which I actually bought a single from but can't remember the name...):

Review by Dave Sleger
No Mike Batt solo effort would be conceived without a convoluted or peculiar theme at its foundation. Zero Zero tells the story of a futuristic civilization where the "disease" of love and emotion no longer exists, resulting in a less complicated existence. The production was adapted for both stage and television, but this is also Mike Batt's new wave recording. He drops references to Gary Numan and Ultravox throughout this album. While he still utilizes orchestral accompaniment (the Sydney Symphony Orchestra), more attention is given to synthetic keyboard effects and programmed rhythms. Recorded in Australia, Zero Zero employs the services of guitarists Tommy Emmanuel and Rex Groh, both noted Australian musicians. Batt again tackles all lead vocals, leading to the conclusion that, of all the styles he's experimented with in the past, his voice is best suited for new wave music. This music was composed as part of a theatrical production, so it's important to keep in mind that the oftentimes disjointed musical themes are intended to accompany visuals as well. This is very creative music, but probably too involved and unsettling for mainstream new wave and pop fans. It is perhaps better suited for fans of the more avant-garde works by Bill Nelson and David Bowie.

Hugh Cornwell's recent "Beyond Elysian Fields" album, not much punk left in the old Stranglers vocalist but it's a pretty nice pop effort anyhow. He sounds like a dead ringer for Lou Reed these days laugh

See, what I meant? A simple word can guide so totally wrong... No Wombles-songs on it, also never heard from them. It's a very old compilation with songs from SCHIZOPHONIA, CARAVANS, WAVES, ZERO ZERO and the TAROT SUITE.
Beside this, your post reminds me to another thing, not posted here on UVOX-Island so far I think: I also highly recommend PHILHARMANIA from Mr. Batt. You will be surprised whats on it (no, again no Wombles wink ), search for this album... (not Google this time, have a walk to a good record shop. Read the tracklist, sure you'll be surprised, pls. listen to it...)

Youre damn right! The only bigger American idiots are all those under-educated ,blue-collar "Bible thumpers" (Lots of my co-workers) who give him their total blind faith.. I am one of the VERY few employees at work who didnt vote for this walking disaster..

Captain Beefhart...
"Doc at the Radar Station"
"Unconditionally Garunteed"
"Ice Cream for Crow"
This is very unconventional stuff, and probably an acquired taste..The Captain has a 5 octave voice, and his music ranges from crazy, chaotic ravings to nice mellow, "bluesy" tunes..experiment, and enjoy..

I am a little bit keen on classic tracks too. This took me wayyyyyyyyyyyy back this morning. Talking about the album ON THE THIRD DAY by E.L.O. Simply perfect for this morning. Having breakfast outside, watching the birds. Additionally then this wonderful album from 1973. This is love to music, honouring classics. Last track based on music from Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg (In The Hall Of The Mountain King), simply awesome.... If you can, take a listen too!

Go-Betweens "16 Lovers Lane"

a bit of Killing Joke.

Placebo "Black-Eyed".

(I guess it was because there was someone looking like LEMMY on TV or something)...

Excellent choice, Steven! I think that song is one of the first ones that many git players learn to do..along w/ "Cat Scratch Fever", "Iron Man", and "Jumpin Jack Flash"...You and your band should surprize yer audience one night and hit them w/ your take on "Smoke on the Water"..It makes a fine closing song and an even better encore..
