Sorry for cutting out the 2nd album in my reply, I have the 2disc-set of A SECRET WISH on my stereo now. I never heard such brilliance in sound on that album. For fans a definitive must-buy. Nice extras on the disc's. Additional 5 tracks containing analogue variations of album-songs. Keen on disc2 (yes I was) it contains never on CD released stuff, except track one. DO WELL (track one) was released on vinyl, a 20-minute jam of THE FIRST CUT, DUEL, JEWEL (CUT ROUGH), WONDER, BEJEWELLED.
Disc1: THE DARK RELIGIONS DEPART...
Disc2: ...AND SWEET SCIENCE REIGNS

Probably the best choice this year so far, and it is written on the cover: THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN!

BTW: The non-plastic-hard-paper-box contains a 20 CD-size pages full of information about the band, assembled together with stylish b/w- and color photos.

It's your choice now. (Is it really??? wink , I couldn't resist,really)

enjoy! yours BV

I have to agree:

(1) A Secret Wish was a masterful album when it was originally released!

(2) This 2 disc anniversary release is a handsome package in terms of sound quality, additional tracks compared to the original, and accopanying booklet.

My only gripe is that I'd love to see a DVD release of promotional videos, TV appearances etc. as well...

Got this a couple of weeks ago. The whole package is second to none. Got it on Amazon for about 8 quid, best 8 quid I have spent in a long while.

The promo videos:
2 x Dr. Mabuse
2 x Duel
1 x p:Machinery
plus a couple of TV adverts for the first two singles were issued as part of a limited edition run of the compilation "Outside World" a few years ago. This release included the album and the DVD of the promo videos. laugh

I agree that this is a brilliant album and the deluxe edition seems like a great purchase.

By the way, there's a new and extensive interview with founder member Ralf Dörper at Electronically Yours that is well worth reading: http://www.league-online.com/

My post at the top of this thread about the new "Art of noise - influence" 2CD set was rather dismissive of it as yet another compilation.

Having played it a few times , it is actually very good and has been compiled with the same care as the Propaganda re-issue and is definately more listenable as a complete run through than something like "what have you done with my body, god ?".
And its also dirt cheap smile

A Secret Wish sounded brilliant already first time it was released on CD,but it looks like this new version is a must-have for the record collector.
Have tried to locate the harmony vocals of Glenn Gregory and David Sylvian, any suggestions?
Btw,check out the OneTwo 2007-album 'Instead' (Claudia Bruecken/Paul Humphreys),it's awesome.
Have a nice weekend.

I remember being underwhelmed with this when it came out. Will be interested to hear it again.

To continue with the ZTT theme, here's a new interview with Gary Langan from THE ART OF NOISE who clears up a few myths that have sprung up around the band.

BTW Claudia Brucken fans should keep an eye on The Electricity Club over the next few weeks... wink
