that's really hard, but in todays mood they would be:
1. Ultravox - Quartet (remastered with the monument tour live tracks) 2. Ultravox - Vienna 3. ELO - Time 4. Fashion - Fabrique 5. Icehouse - Love in motion 6. Marillion - Holidays in Eden 7. Marillion - Happiness is the road 8. Placebo - Black market music 9. Rush - Hold your Fire 10. Mike & The Mechanics - word of mouth.
I feel really bad though leaving out albums by Journey, Roger waters and a few others that could easily replace some of these albums depending on my mood

Aahh yes, Talk Talk - Spirit Of Eden, Simple Minds - New Gold Dream, Human League - Dare ...I got those too....GREAT albums! And ELO -Time...I haven`t got it (Big mistake!) ...brings a lot og memories back...love the sound on that album!
Icehouse - Love In Motion...I΄m pretty sure it`s the same album as Primitive Man! I don`t know why they changed the title...

love in motion is indeed the same album as primitive man, I bought it on vinyl back when 'hey little girl' was released. I know it was originally released as primitive man, and has since been re-released as primitive man on CD, which I also bought as it has all the bonus tracks on it, that were the B sides to the 12"'s back in the 80's.
Time by ELO...it should be a must in anyones collection...but you could be forgiven if you bought 'out of the blue' or a 'new world record' by ELO instead.

Okay! I can`t remember if I bought the album on vinyl back then, but I bought the CD. Later I got the remastered CD too, though I got all the 12"s (I think). Thanks a lot for the ELO tip! I will check it out! Primitive Man will be the perfect soundtrack for the evening I think...

Sorry it's so predictable........ 1. Ultravox - Rage in Eden (re-master) 2. Ultravox - Quartet (re-master) 3. Ultravox - Vienna (re-master) 4. Ultravox - Return to Eden Live at the R'House 5. Midge Ure - Answers 6. Midge Ure - Move Me 7. Midge Ure - Breathe 8. Ultravox - Lament 9. Midge Ure - Pure 10. Ultravox -Monument (re-master) and to be even more predictable they could be any order and it wouldn't matter (apart from Rage in Eden which will always be first) I do try and listen to other stuff - honest!! But I always find myself turning it off and going for the Vox or Midge - and you know what.... I love it

Always a good topic of conversation! That and Top 10 films!
In no particular order:
Ultravox - Rage in Eden Ultravox - Vienna Ultravox - Lament Ultravox - Quartet U2 - The Joshua Tree ABC - Lexicon of Love Human League - Dare Queen - Greatest Hits Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Welcome to the Pleasuredome Marillion - Misplaced Childhood
Thats the 10, though I do have to say that Muse's HAARP live album and The Resistance are also very high on the list, together with Abba's Gold Greatest Hits (yeah, maybe cheesy but still class songwriting).
Now top 10 films....

Hmm, on some days I'd say the list would be the 10 Bowie studio albums following (and including) The Man Who Sold The World. On other days it would be a bit like this:
- Rage in Eden - Ultravox - Revolver - The Beatles - Welcome to Jamrock - Damian Marley - Brilliant Trees - David Sylvian - Gentlemen Take Polaroids - Japan - Reproduction - The Human League - Raw Power - Iggy and The Stooges - Computer World - Kraftwerk - The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion - The Black Crowes - Never Mind the Bollocks - The Sex Pistols

Top ten albums? The impossible question that I (and judging by people's comments, most other people) never have a definitive answer for.
Anyway, this is what I'm feeling today - here's 10 albums that have always been on heavy rotation and that I could survive on for the rest of my life. In alphabetical order.
ABC Lexicon of Love Boards of Canada Music Has The Right To Children David Bowie Heroes Julian Cope Peggy Suicide The Flaming Lips The Soft Bulletin LCD Soundsystem Sound of Silver Neu Neu 75 OMD Architecture and Morality Talking Heads - Fear of Music Ulrich Schnauss In A Strangely Isolated Place
I reserve the right to change my mind in about ten minutes time.

A difficult one to post on. Some of my chosen albums are listed here because I love all of the artists work, not just one (if it came down to it and I had to choose, the one listed is the one I'd take). Apart from the first on the list, there are no ' I like this album more than the next...' entries - they're all good, and all have their place on merit in my Top 13 (sorry - I just couldn't limit it to 10, no matter how hard I tried). Duran Duran - Big Thing Miles Davis - Kind of Blue Steve Ferrone - It Up The Beatles - Abbey Road The Killers - Sam's Town Los Amigos Invisibles - The Venezuelan Zinga Son Vol.1 Eric Clapton - Behind The Sun Suzanne Vega - Songs in Red and Gray Bryan Ferry - Mamouna Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet Ultravox - Rage in Eden Bowling For Soup - A Hangover You Don't Deserve The Who - Who's Next Regards, Paul

I was surprised by how many of my choices appear on other lists. Usually these sorts of threads show an immense range of choices, I am surprised and impressed by the consistency of the lists.
1) Ultravox: Systems of Romance 2) Eno: Another Green World 3) Roxy Music: Stranded 4) Bryan Ferry: In Your Mind 5) David Bowie: Heroes 6) King Crimson: Larks Tongues in Aspic 7) Japan: Quiet Life 8) Bill Nelson: Love that Whirls 9) Bill Nelson: After The Satellite Sings 10)John Foxx: Metamatic
A quick review of other poster's lists includes, Miles Davis: Kind of Blue, Daniel Lanois: Acadie, Simple Minds: New Gold Dream, Echo and The Bunnymen: Porcupine, Japan: Gentlemen Take Polaroids, Gorecki - Third Symphony ABC: Lexicon of Love, OMD: Architecture and Morality, Roxy Music: For Your Pleasure, David Sylvian: Secrets of the Beehive, any of which on a different day would have been on the list.

Meddle, Pink Floyd Origins of Symmetry, Muse Full Moon Fever, Tom Petty Wild One, Thin Lizzy Welcome to the Pleasuredome, Frankie Goes To Hollywood Emotion and Commotion, Jeff Beck War, U2 The Ragpicker's Dream, Mark Knopfler Tragic Kingdom, No Doubt Not just a pretty face, Rowan Atkinson (probably the funniest album ever!)
