Hi Guys, just a wee update to let you know how things are progressing with regards the band Rehearsals went rather well on saturday We've got 99% of the Syndrum solo done for 'The Voice', so that should be finished real soon & just to get my Odyssey serviced & into action for the synth lead solos & we're done on that one......phew! Also heard from our pal Rodney today saying that Peter Saville is going to let us use the artwork for the band logo's, backdrop etc! Regards... Sleepy

Yeh Warren we'll send you a CD! We've got a rehearsal tomorrow in Glasgow from 10am-3pm....but no drummer!......Warren??? Gav starts his new job on monday & has got a lot before hen, so needs must I'll be taking my trusty old Roland CR78 with me, we'll be tightening up a few things here & there It would be great if Warren could get involved.....(Wishful thinking eh!) or even some advice on how we're going to get round the sequencing live thing.....don't trust them myself, manys a time I've been banging away on he synths & the bloody sequencers decided to throw in the towel leaving me with a heart attack!!!! <img border="0" alt="[Pissed]" title="" src="graemlins/pissed.gif" />

Don't suppose anybody is bothered much but it makes me feel more important Craig

Right you lot, stop being so impatient wull ye! Kids, jobs, other commitments etc etc etc There's no point in doing it, unless it sounds 100% the way we want it to sound & the rest of the guys will back me on this It takes time to learn & rehearse the songs & put our stamp on it! We are still pondering on how we are going to use the live side of sequencing......Roy, thanks for the advice. unfortunately i let the side down at the last minute at the weekend there due to my good half's Granmother had suddenly passed away, but these things are bound & will happen, it also does'nt help matters that 75% of the band are on the west coast & there's lil ole me on the east, but such is life eh. I will guarentee this though guys, when the time comes we'll be sounding feckin' brilliant! Put it another way you'll see us before Cerise gets the bloody website finished!!!!.....sorry m'dear couldnae resist it pal!!

Connza, I knew that the last statement may have been taken in the wrong context, thats why I specified. I know only too well the after effects of a Phaal. When we eventually meet up the common denominator shall prevail. Me, you, Sleepmeister, Exile and all who enjoy, shall get together and sample the delights of the Glasgow Curry trail (believe me it's the best) then when I get on stage with Monument, the distortion sounds on the Odyssey might not rely on the fingers of Sleepy, my ass could probably replicate Billys trademark sound. Looking forward to meeting each and every one of you.
POLL: Would you buy a Tee shirt?
All the best Davy B

Sleepy, 'You know what' will happen before the end of the week... Unfortunately if I want Friday and Monday off I need to take it from my own holidays since Easter appears not to be a set holiday for the company I work for...added to that everybody wants them off so the chances of getting them at this late stage are remote... Think I'll set Mel Gibson on them....in two capacities...

He is in Hollywood, CA now, but just think! Once he was in Pittsburgh bringing rave happiness to everyone in 1992-1994.) *sigh* I miss those happy days, but I'm on here on the Forum so that makes it ok.

For those of you interested...I have posted a few soundclips of Monument in rehearsal at the following location.. [email: http://www.katzsisters.com] http://www.katzsisters.com[/email] Bear in mind that these are live, untouched, unsequenced pieces....so all the mistakes are our own work... Your feedback/comments would be appreciated... Thanks to Peter for the loan of his web space...

Davy/Mike/Sleepwalker - very good indeed. Keep it going lads. Thanks for posting the link and letting us listen to some samples. Looking forward to the gig. The website states that you got permission off Chris and Warren. I know Warren has been on the forums recently but does this mean you guys have spoken with or e-mailed Chris lately?? Also, what's the full Monument line up and who plays what?

Mike, Thanks for the feedback. I wrote to each member of the band through the EV "contact the band" thingy and got a reply direct from Warren. Chris's reply was relayed through Cerise. Here is his simple reply. "Hi David No objections or problems with your project, good luck and I hope it all goes well and you enjoy it. cheers chris" (hope you dont mind Chris) Not much, but we are still thankful of the reply, we still await confirmation from Midge and Billy. As Mike L say's these snippets were recorded in rehearsal and are done in one take but I can assure you the live sound is very much there, and has, for want of a better expression "the balls, power and dynamics" that you would expect. As far as the line up goes, well here goes..... Sleepwalker:- Synthesizers and Electronic Percussion Backing Vocals. Me:- Bass Guitar, Synthesisers, CR78 x 2, Electronic Percussion, Backing Vocals. Mike L: Lead Vocals, Guitar, Synthesisers, Electronic Percussion. Gavin: Drums and Electronic Percussion. Speak soon......Davy B
