Cheers

I also am thinking in this way. I have the Hebridean Malt on stand-by, the 80's clothing out of moth balls, and am trying to get work in the area so that I can claim travel as an expense - forget the rumoured Scottish "carefulness", Derbyshire farming stock make them look positively profligate!

I believe the hotel of choice is the Travelodge about 5 minutes from the Limelight club - apparently the rooms are 26.

We stayed there last time, although we haven't booked yet for this excursion. smile

The 26 rate won't be available nearer the time of the gig. The saver rate is only if you pre-book and pre-pay. Normal room rate is 50. https://www.travelodge.co.uk/make_a_book...mp;x=69&y=9
There's also another travelodge (Crewe Barthomley)just up the road on the motorway with rooms for 15.

That may take co-ordination - Motorway means no pedestrianism, which means that someone has to stay sober enough to operate a motor vehicle packed with merry giggers. Does 10 each - the difference between the two - get three folks a taxi back there in the wee small hours? Any local gen on this?

According to multimap, the cheaper hotel is about 6 and a half miles from the gig venue and is about a 10 min drive. I doubt very much if the taxi journey would cost 33 even in this day and age with the price of cabs!

I've just looked on the Travelodge site and there are still family rooms available at the one in Crewe (central) for 26.. (3 adults maximum per room)

Just for the record this is not the hotel we stayed at the last time. Sorry Mick you are wrong. I am sure Chappie could confirm this. It was the Premier Travel Inn and there rooms are 50/night

I think this is the one that I had booked into orginially and met up with Chappie, Ari, Isabel and Grant before going over the to right one.

Guess it doesnt matter but good if we all got booked into same hotel.

Aye, that's right it was. I took Helen's advice and booked into the 26 quid one, if they have room left it's worth getting it sorted so we're all together. laugh

I think the Travelodge is grand - stayed in one in Liverpool recently and they are a bargain at 26! Should be good craic in this one though - god help the rest of the residents! lol smile wink

Will there be a bit of drinking session before the gig then lads and lassies?

Cheeky bugger, i was going to abstain from the alcohol and give you a lift back to the hotel..... you've blown that one!

I suppose should the need arise, i'll just have to get a big hunky, burley bloke to help me out!....... that rules out most of Monument then! LOL

Paul, the soundcheck is 7.00 till 8.30, so I doubt we'll have much time to head back and partake of a sherbert, but we'll give it a go... smile

So please let me wish you all a fantastic evening with a lot of joy and fun, undoubtedly booze at the Travellodge. May someone DANCE please (and remember: it is possible to dance to "The Thin Wall"!!!).

I can only apologise for my non-attendance. It's my loss. A heavy cold, a possible very early start on Monday and a couple of those other things that life throws at you to stop you becoming too happy all conspired to prevent my heading to the Limelight at the appointed hour. Rest assured that the bottle remains unopened for the next time.

How was it? Was there a good turn out? What was the set list? These and other questions will, I am sure, be answered here in the fullness of time once the crowd has fallen silent and hangovers have worn off.

We were planning to play "Same Old Story" before "Mine For Life", but since my voice was going through a second puberty over the weekend we decided to cut it (sorry...) as the already fractured notes were piling up and people were in danger of being hit by the shrapnel.... excited

Looks like it was a great night! Sorry I couldn't make it, guys - still hoping to see you later in the year. LOVE the sprayjob on the guitar, Mike!

Daren - brilliant photos! Any chance we can put them up in the 'Monument' section of the Media Archive? laugh

Guys, if there's anything else you'd like putting up in there - photos, tickets, posters, video, audio, whatever - just give me a shout.

Don - Got a message from you a couple of weeks back, couldn't get hold of you though. Left messages, emailed - if you still need me, gis a call again. wink

Chappie,

I use photobucket and that has a facility for generating the html codes etc to place the pics onto BB's etc etc. couldn't see them in the Flikr site but I wasnt signed in. I would be very suprised if your site didnt do this as well. Photobucket is free, doesd the job for me!

Cheers

Daren said on the other thread that they were sealed forever..
I like Daren , he is a man of his word..

However repeat performances usually happen..

The Prodigy Tribute the other week had the benefit of my skills....

Thanks for the photos and thanks for the set list. Not like being there, but there's next time . . . It looks like it was a grand night out. Has Dr. Jim taken over from Dr. Jack as the rock'n'roll medication of choice?

EXCELLENT SHOTS, ALL OF THEM!!! smile

Congratulations to both band and photographers! Good to hear that everybody had such a brilliant time (Jim, Jack - puh! After a while it doesn't really matter anymore, does it?).

I would have loved to be there (and in my thoughts I definitely was) - but you can't have it all, can you... frown
