I hope to be there, too. Anyone going from the West Herts end of things - a posse might be arranged or resources pooled.

I warn you, I might well dress for the occasion . . .

I'll be there.

Which is just as well as I've volunteered to do PA. Probably with my daughter as well.

I might have to skip the after-show party and overnight it to Carmarthen, as I have a long-standing engagement to provide PA for a bikers' bash the next day.

I can only say that whoever makes it along to this gig will have an extremely enjoyable time, in a rockingly nostalgic (thank's to Monument) and trouser-flapping (thank's to Roy) way.

Who could ask for anything more?

Danny.

OK, back to serious: Paul – what is the break-even point? Would hate to see our guys losing so much money...

Even if I couldn’t go, I’d still buy a ticket. Thanks for sending the box office link.

It would be nice to see a few more faces though... smile

Come on guys and gals!! We have checked the ticket sales and they're a bit disapointing to say the least. cussing

The Monument boys take pride in their gigs, as anyone who has seen them will attest to. Please dont let them feel the forum has ignored them again. It costs money to put on these shows, money which they can ill afford to lose.

I have checked the posting regarding previous gigs and the comments which spring to mind were:

"If only they played nearer London"

"If only they didn't play on a school night"

Well they have answered your requests, a gig on a Friday Night within 30 mins of Central London. Please show them the support they deserve, you won't regret it, trust me, I've seen them play twice now and it's a great night out.

Let's get those tickets sold and give them the kind of audience they long to play for.. laugh

Paul - who is flying back from the Middle East again to see them play.

Sorry everyone, will not be able to make it. frown I was hoping to but finances are, if anything, worse than they were for Crewe. I will do my utmost to improve the situation for an autumn gig, assuming one happens. Anywhere British will do, I reckon. There, that is my hat in the ring and Mrs X can slap me hard if I back out.

Have an inspirational time won't you - I'll be thinking of you.

Anyway...I'm very disappointed to not be able to make it to this gig, as I sort of feel like this is the one I was supposed to be at, considering we'd hoped to be there this month. It didn't work out that way though. And what's worse is it's somewhere close to where we'd be staying. frown

I hope everyone has a great time, and play some FoxxVox in my honour, OK? laugh

An least one ticket (probably two) will sell on the door. I mentioned this gig to my ex, Manda. She was around when I was working for Ultravox, and has a few tales of her own to tell.

I'm getting my ticket on the door, too. I'm a wee bit cagey about using my card on the netwebthingy - I've only just got a new one having had some little scrote clone it and then try and buy Ł635-worth of stuff in Unwin's Wine Merchants. Guess that at least eliminates al-Qaeda from enquiries.

Tom- I got your message sorry I thought I got back to you. You can share with one of the guys that is no problem.

We now have all the rooms that we have booked full, if anyone else wishes to book a room can you let me know by Tues at the latest. If we need to book another 5 rooms we can arrange a discount. It isnt much of one, but everything helps.

If we dont have enough for another 5 rooms we can always work something else out, like Lava has suggested.

I am sure it will be in the early hours of the morning before anyone thinks of rest anyway.

excited

Lisa - many thanks for sorting the hotel stuff out.

What's the plan for Friday? What time are people arriving in Cheshunt + anyone want to grab a bite to eat beforehand ?

Check in to the hotel is from 3pm and I may well bunk off work early + avoid the rush hour

I'd offer to help - I spent nearly a year doing get-ins and cable wrestling on tour, even if I didn't understand most of it - but I'm up in Leicester on a voice job on Friday with no accurate idea of when I'll finish. If I'm in good time, would extra hands be useful?

Big Stranglers fan here. They touched on metaphysical concepts in their lyrics, and other things i'd consider worthy of consideration. So have a good time ! And, secondarily, they rock...

Always a real darling, are ya... smile

Yes, we always eat together if possible. My plane lands at 13.00 hrs in Stansted, which is the closest London airport to Cheshunt.

The Marriott has a swimming pool, hehe...

It would have been great to have Piggy there... but The Stranglers is a very good alternative, of course... wink Enjoy!
