Hey all, where do I start? Well, as many of you know an have tracked...... this band was born on, and developed on, this very website.... Cheers Cerise We have played a few gigs to a few of the regulars in such exotic places as Edinburgh and Crewe. BUT!!! We need more stimulation than that!! What we need is, a venue which is central to most people, we don't mind bringing the show to you guys.... So, what we are looking for is a commitment from you all, and i mean every REGULAR on here to get together for an official Ultravox! Voxgate.. We are committed, Cerise, as always, is committed, are you? All we want is a few more of the regulars to say, yes, i'll be there and we can get together and have one of those nights that we can say ..... Let's do this more often.... I don't know why we waited so long....... and basically see and meet the imaginary faces we talk to on this site. So, in short, we are willing to play for you guys.........You name the place...... and we all chip in and see what we come up with. I an prepared to coordinate...... Cerise, are you up for a partnership? Who knows, Warren even said He'd jam with us if he ever had the chance, so he may even come to an event which was supported by you beautiful people. Speak soon..... Davy

Davy, I would quietly suggest Newcastle upon Tyne, England as a possible venue. It has a number of significant advantages : 1) It's just south of the border! 2) It has a big, vibrant music scene 3) It has excellent travel links - main east coast rail line, an international airport, a good underground system ("The Metro") 4) An excellent range of city centre hotels 5) A huge student population 6) Excellent gigging venues "Trillians", Mayfair/Arena "Rock Club", Bridge Hotel etc 7) Newcastle is now a serious 'party' town. 8) I might be able to get a couple of plugs on the local radio station, Radio Newcastle. We last gigged in Newcastle in 2001 and the response was excellent. We billed the gig as "The spirit of Ultravox for the new millenium" or some such hyperbolic bollocks. The venue was packed out with around one hundred people. More were queuing on the stairs. Most were new faces, not just friends turning up. Infection Music would be happy to publicise the gig, print up and distribute flyers, arrange PA and hotel accommodation. Skin Mechanix would be happy to play support. How does that sound? Best wishes David Hughes http://www.infectionmusic.co.uk

Great idea, Davy! Yep, sure we could hop on a plane to Newcastle (won't be driving I think, it's about 7 hours!). Late summer good for us, except for a week in Aug from Sat 13th to Sat 20th. I presume we're thinking a weekend..? Can certainly advertise it in EV mailout (around 4000 people), in News section, on home page, and a new thread can be set up in the Voxgates section of the forum. Happy to sell tickets through the site too via PayPal and send the dosh on to you (as we do with sales of the Messengers album to Danny). After the event (or even DURING, if I can get a wireless connection) we could post up photos to the Media Archive. Sounds files of the show too, if you fancy. Davy - re your email, yes, we can certainly invite the band - but I'm pretty sure that none of them would come, for fear of bumping into the others (and Chris is REALLY shy about meeting people these days). Danny and Colin might come, though - Danny, are you guys up for it?

Hello, If you're trying to arrange a gig in Newcastle then you should seriously aim for late in October/early November. This is so that you catch the student population when they're still learning about the City, trying out new venues and not swotting for exams. Don't leave it too late either. Most of them have blow they're available cash by the start of December. Aim for one of the big student venues near the City Centre or Quayside since access to these areas is aided by excellent travel facilities and some astounding pubs. You need to look at somewhere like The Bridge Hotel or Trillians. Also, aim for a Friday or Saturday night since this is when the city goes potty. Thursday is usually pretty slow because everyone is gearing up for the weekend. Sunday is pretty dead because most punters will be semi-comatose from the previous evenings. Hope this helps. Cheers David http://www.infectionmusic.co.uk

Hey, you saatanan mulkku, if you don't wash your mouth, I'll import the smell of fish to your very island - and you now know what that means. (And: yes, you did!!! mwhahahahahaaaaa) Back to the topic: August would be excellent, of course (Tara - would this still suit you flightwise?). Does everybody know about your press folder including Ari's DVD ?! This could help find a club sooner (schnell, schnell!).

Oh!!! So it's not a referrence to the tonloads of Finish expressions that have been used with regards to UV and the EV forum "lately"... Because if that were the case, Thomas, you would have no need to worry - you'd be surprised about how much you learn in 5 days...

I was really hoping for a gig here in Canada! And, as Winnipeg is in the centre of the North American continent, it would (hopefully) serve as a perfect place for all on this side of the world who would like to see them, to go. I might be able to find a venue, too. Mrs. X
