What image do you think the guys should go with? Vienna / Rage In Eden...(Which is virtually the same look!) Quartet? Lament? Any idea where we could obtain the gear for this...we may be able to have most of it made to spec? Regards... Wee

The Vienna / Rage in Eden look is wonderful, but the stuff can be hard to come by - believe me, I love it and look for it but rarely find it these days. Get it right and it looks superb, get it wrong and it looks like a second-rate school production of "Bugsy Malone". Years a-gone you could pick it up at any jumble sale for under 50p (literally: I got my coat and tails for 15p, inside it bears the legend "Tailors to the Egyptian Legation", real mid-century stuff). I've still got a decent pin-striped double-breasted demob-type suit, no labels, but for some reason the waist seems to have shrunk since I last wore it. I remember looking everywhere for a brown pin-striped suit of a similar age as Midge ahd one at the time, but never found one. The Quartet look might be easier and allow more interpretative leeway. Or how about the Pink Thing Era - just buy a twenty quid set of Argos hair clippers and wear your own clothes . . . I'll get me coat.

Hi chaps Well, if you've the resources, you could change to suit your audience: 1980: Vienna album cover thin lapel'd suits (which always remind me of 'Shoestring' for some odd reason)... 1981: RIE plus-fours(...nahhhh, too Haircut 100...), Foxx Garden-era waistcoats and Victoriana shirts (?), Thin Wall video Casablanca chic, etc... 1982: Quartet...er....fashionzzzz? OK: For Quartet go with the Reap The Wild Wind ethic: WWI & WWII military clobber, but British only (you simply have to redress the whole Private Ryan / Band of Brothers historical singularity). Remember: any of you dress as squaddies and you'd better really blanco that webbing or there'll be hell to pay!... 1984: Lament...a bit up in the air really. How about the David Bailey group shot? You know: the one in black and white? Everybody happy and laughing...and black is sooo slimming ... 1986: repeat after me: "There was NO 1986!!!"

1986 was really when "The 80s" was ending, i.e most people's memory of it entails up to about '85. in the way that "the 60s" in people's minds is about 1965 to 69 at most {hippy era). Getting to the point, any look other than the longhaired one would get my vote. cheers Grant Originally posted by Mrs. X: Originally posted by Lavaocean: [b]Ha haaaaaaaaaa, Mrs. X!!! ok, my vote is for the manky sweatshirts circa "Systems of Romance" !! grant Originally posted by Oesterreicher II: Maybe there's a competition in here? "Design a Look for the Monument Boys", incorporating elements of looks gone by, a tip of the trilby to images we knew plus a wee streak of something new (. . . and something sinful?), how evolution might have worked had not extinction supervened.
Just a thought.

Made my first purchase yesterday - a pair of silver shirt bands...currently looking for a camel coloured waistcoat, blue pinstriped high waisted trousers...I'm gonna look like a total jack and danny. Michael, Dave, Tommy, need your shirt, waist and chest sizes please by Tuesday at the latest...oor Sassy and I will get ya's sorted....unless you want to look like the feckin ant hill mob, get back to me on this please...I can just see the video shoot, picture us screamin round the corner in the PT Cruiser, hangin from the runner boards toting tommy guns and tipping our fedora's, this thing is getting more ridiculous by the minute, I actually walk about the house in a smoking jacket, I woke at 4 this morning shouting things like Bandits at 12 o'clock ginger, and wondering where I had misplaced my ration book...Might I be taking this to far????

Fantastic! That "late entry" at Number One looks like teh bastard offspring of Dr Seuss' Grinch and a badger after one alcopop too many. Ah, well, I suppose it's something for him to show his grandchildren. Good luck with the outfitting, it sounds as if interesting things are afoot. In fact, reading the latest post, I had a pair of pin-stripe trousers of immaculate cut and 1930s vintage that someone "borrowed" to get a copy made. I never saw them again, but rumour has it that he wore them at his wedding, the cheeky sod. If I ever get them back you can have first refusal if the size is right! Mind you, you'll sweat like a pig ( no offence, CP ) if you wear them on stage, that 30s stuff was made before we had global warming.

Talking about "Monument Image"... Well literaly, I have some cracking stuff you all out there might find interesting. In Crewe I used my small pocket camera (Canon Ixus 500) as a video mode to capture 1 gb of stuff. I used Final Cut Pro to mess around with that stuff, and the result....WOW! You all have to see. I used Mikeīs recordings from Citrus Club as a sound, and spent hours after hours to adjust "lipsynch" to make these live videos enjoyable. I made two videos; "Hymn" & "All Stood Still", plus I made one slide show as well; images from Citrus & Greenock plus images from Crewe with "Vienna". I also did exellent looking DVD-menu. Please, sent me you add details and I will sent you a copy. I hope you donīt mind Monument Boys! Old friends also (paul, don, mike L....) please sent me your add details as well, īsince I change my internet operator while ago, my old posts have all been deleted. You are going to like/love this DVD!!!! Believe me!!!! Cheers for all, ari P.S. Silence from my part few weeks is because my life has been harder than ever before... Tell you later. But this dvd I made gave me the reason to think totally something else and it was my pleasure to make it. First I thought I put these files (videos) on internet, but īcause they are such an amazing stuff (both quality and editing) I really wanted you all have these as a good quality copy, not as poor internet copy.
