Congratulations to my Electro 80s pals for 3rd place in the "best cover" category with "Sleepwalk". Loved this since the moment I first heard it.

It truly was a fantastic and supremely enjoyable assemblage of talent entered into this year's competition, and everyone is to be congratulated. Good going!!!

Thank you very much, Cerise and Rob, for the honor of being the "Best Cover" category winner. I had so much fun putting that track together, and I'm glad you thought it was close enough to the original to take the category. 'Moon Over Moscow' is one of my favorite Visage recordings (as is the LP it appears on), and I have wanted to cover that song for many years.

Thanks everyone for participating, listening, and for supporting this website! Looking forward to entering the competition again next year -- a collaborative effort with the lovely Lynne!

Yahoo & congrats to all the winners! I am especially thrilled on two counts - all the best cover winners were my same personal picks - wow!! And three of my good friends who entered were winners!!! Yay! Special congrats to Chris, Flip & Darren from me.

Same from me. I'm pretty shocked to have won to be honest. Delighted but shocked! That song was written as a private challenge/joke between myself and my friend - we were both trying to make songs which were as John Foxx-like as possible. He wrote one called 'Citadels' which was intentionally Metamatic-like. I *attempted* to do electronics but it's not really my forte, hence me falling back on a guitar sound.

For what it's worth, my favourite was 'Lament' by Box Of Sky. It's got a great feel... and arrangement-wise it reminds me of Black Box Recorder. Lovely.

And thanks to Cerise for uploading all the songs and doing the judging. It's not a quick or easy task.

Thanks so much, Adam! (I'm digging these comparisons, indeed.) It was more than enough to place 4th in Re-Covers for what was a truly last-minute recording.

"Implausible Man" was superb: both retro and futuristic. Especially great guitar lick, too.

Have to say Implausible Man made me think "wow" as well. Far harder to do something in the foxxvox stylee I think, so well deserved!

Just got home from a wedding today - and I had some great news waiting for me.

I'm so happy I got in the runners up for the Original songs section - especially when you consider how damn good every song was in this section. The comments have left a big grin on my face. I'm a very very happy man.

It was really, really tough to decide. You can rest easy, knowing that you gave me such a hard time it took me days to work out a result that felt right. There really are many, many fantastic entries. I cant believe how talented everyone is!

I'm sure all us competitors appreciate your efforts Cerise! A big thanks to you and Rob for your time and efforts, the competition wouldn't exist without that. Each year is better than the last, and it's all done in good sporting spirit. And it's fun!
