Hi everyone,

Our apologies for not ramping up the Covers Competition promotion as yet. We've been so tied up with the EMI projects that we've decided the best thing we can do, in order to give it the attention it deserves, is to extend the deadline. We haven't had quite so many entries this year so far, either (you've all been busy too, huh?) - so it'll give you a chance to get more entries in!

The new date will be May 31st 2008.

Seven more entries have been uploaded - enjoy!!

That's quite a long way into the future. Almost 9 months. I could "do it" with someone tonight and they'd be giving birth to my super intelligent offspring by the time the winners are announced next year. I might try it.

LOL! That's true. But to judge the competition - to listen to all the tracks multiple times, to compare and contrast all of the tracks in each category, to choose winners and write the summary, is very time-consuming - and at the moment we just can't do that due to the deadlines we have from EMI. So we felt that the best solution was to extend it to a date when we can give it the time and attention that it deserves.

Which would you prefer - Anthology but a delayed competition judging - or the competition judging now, but no Anthology? smile

the best thing is that we now know that the u-vox anthology will certainly be released BEFORE the 31th of may 2008 , which is quite a good thing ! ;-)

cheers ! :-)

Did Cerise actually say that Anthology would certainly be released BEFORE the 31st of May 2008? All that's been confirmed is the revised deadline for the Covers Competiton. Please don't read any more into it than that.

Rob

Lets just say completion or expected completion time for a project never really has anything to do with a release date of it!! If that were true of all record labels, i would already have no room for my bed. lmao

Hello!
Just found out about your cover compilation.
And remebered that I did a cover of White China back in 1995 (?)
Here's a link:

Maybe not as "sparkling" as other covers, but back then all there was where big reel tape recorders...

I remember this one, too. Very nice! Why don't you enter it into the competition, Christer? smile

I'm looking forward to Casm's entry this time round.

'White Chin', 'The Thin Wall' & DM'S 'Shake The Disease' were all brilliant! wink

The synth-bass sound on 'White China' were in my opinion 100% spot on wink

Dunno if we're going to enter this year, only birthdays & christmas's now...oop's wrong thread! shocked
