My fellow Vox-arians smile

Monument have been asked to play at a benefit concert on the 18th of june in a small village just outside of Edinburgh called Borthwick & it's in aid of cerebal palsey.

The venue itself will be a huge barn especially converted for the gig, which will also be equipped with a HOOOOOGE bar with mega cheap beer....yum yum biglaugh

This should prove to be a stonking good night it's been estimated that between 500-1000 will attend as it has good financial backing with some big names behind it so i'm told.

We'll have the info up on here soon with regards times, ticket prices etc

Regards...

Start with some of the following:-
Talking Heads, Japan (I can see Mike with an oversized blonde wedge, can't you?!?), Talk Talk, mix in a bit of The Associates, Aztec Camera & Simple Minds and you've got an Eighties Paaarty.

Get it sorted, I'll buy a ticket! Paul. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="cool.gif" />

Billy Idol's White Wedding followed immediately by DWTIME always used to work well at discos when played back to back - possible live?

Sounds like a fabulous event (cause, music etc)

If we're picking stuff people will know vs our personal favs (though the 2 worlds collide on occasion)

Michael Jackson's Thriller (though perhaps not if kiddies are around...)
Calling your name -Marilyn
anything from Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA
Duran Duran
Spandau Ballet
Birdhouse in Your Soul -They Might be Giants
Violent Femmes
Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Adam and the Ants
Depending on the crowd, Bananarama?

Hope it goes well, troops

Assuming you're going "popular" rather than "what we'd like to play"

The Power of Love - Huey Lewis
I'd have said Billy Idol too but Rebel Yell rather than White Wedding
True by Spandau Ballet
Rio by Duran
Gimme All Your Lovin' - ZZ Top
Pride (In The Name of Love) - U2
Atomic (or Call Me) - Blondie
