New album (And Now We Dream) from Paul and Robin Simon...

Ajanta Music evolved from an experimental touring-only line-up, formed by Paul and Robin, which had travelled the world throughout the 90s. As the millennium dawned, they arrived on Ibiza. The influence of the musical fusion and chill-out scenes in the north of the island, filtered through their previous musical experience, crystallised into Ajanta Music.

Their first album And Now We Dream was released in January 2006. Their music is an original style of chill-out, blending world music, electronic beats, trip-hop, and dub.

The full track-listing (together with track times, and Beats Per Minute) is as follows...

01. And Now We Dream 6'48" [60 BPM]
02. Snow On the Beach 6'10" [82 BPM]
03. Heaven Sent 6'18" [91 BPM]
04. Can Fly Sunday 7'01" [110 BPM]
05. Kumari 7'12" [87 BPM]
06. Chango 6'07" [117 BPM]
07. The Malecon 6'07" [101 BPM]
08. Mad Mike 5'37" [75 BPM]
09. Tema De Baile 5'55" [104 BPM]
10. Cosmi's Cove 6'15" [63 BPM]
11. Disco Mafia 6'14" [106 BPM]
12. K2 6'11" [90 BPM]

Ajanta Music will make their live debut in London in Spring 2006. Plans are afoot to present an audio-visual extravaganza involving Paul, Robin and Tony (Lowe), plus performing artists, dancers and DJs. Point your browser at the Ajanta Music website for the latest news, sound samples and details of how to buy And Now We Dream...

Absolutely! I must admit that it hasn't been given the chance to stray too far from my CD player... wink

Hi Robin & Paul

Yes! I heard on the grapevine that you were recording and I'm happy it's eventually been released. I thought it was going to be rockier stuff but like John we are all moving into the age of electronics and in this case fusion.

Hermanos. Con la brisa del mar en el malecon uno siempre se siente muy bien!

I'll order this one of course!

Cheers!

Hi Birdsong!

This is actually very good, OK not the guitar sounds of the late 70s/early 80s but a well produced album. Paul who wrote all the tracks and produced them himself has surely come a long way. It's a well balanced act with Robin adding his guitar textures, at times classical, to Paul's atmospherics and electronic beats.

My faves are the title track, Chango and Cosmi's Cove.

These tracks will surely fit in nicely around these latitudes come the warm summer months.

Enjoy and dream....
