I bought one on ebay this week. Under 400 squids and its virtually new - box, manuals, leads...and all the sounds available on the web are downloaded and on it already, including (very useful in my "Numan band" role) an extremely accurate Polymoog Vox Humana - the string sound all over Numan's 1979-82 period stuff and impossible for anything to emulate up to now.
That aside, it seems to be able to conjure up virtually anything, has a sampler built in, a hard disk as big as the one in my laptop (offering almost limitless space for more sounds and samples). Very impressive.
I now have that, the Roland XP-30, the Korg MS2000, the Yamaha AN1x and a Roland JX-8P with PG800 programmer. Something will have to go to fund the Alesis realistically - suspect it might well be the old timer JX-8P...

Phil, What model of the Fusion 6HD or 8HD? Not had the pleasure of demoing one. I'd love to hear that VH sample you have, Numan is a great fan of the Roland D-550'S, that's the closest i've heard up until now, although i do believe the Virus TI is quite close also. See ya @ Hammersmith Batman

I'll be there - Batman is busy that day though A friend of mine put a sample up of the Vox Humana patch when he got his - which persuaded me, so easier for me to link to that - take a listen...certainly close enough and better than anything Numan's used lately... Replicas Intro And the guy who put the patch together plays it rather well here:- YouTube

Hey, you guys may have seen this already, but I found it by chance yesterday, and as well as tons of really fascinating Polymoog info (for a geek like me, it's fascinating, anyway!), he demos and dishes the details on how key Numan sounds were made (Cars sounds relying on MXR Phase 100 pedal, for example). Superb! Now all I need is a Fusion, Vox Humana sample, and Phase 100... http://www.dubsounds.com/polymoog.htm

Amazing how much energy a young, talented band behind Numan can do. Ta for the link!

I should have bought a Fusion last year when Turnkey sold them as End Of The Line at £399 Alesis gear is under-rated. I do own a Micron which has the same powerul engine as Alesis's Ion. Just a bit smaller, less knobs etc Oh yeah it has 3 oscillators 1 more than the Microkorg

Great news... The Polymoog Vox Humana samples created for the Fusion are now available for several samplers for FREE!! Unfortunately Polymoog Strings 1 & 2 are not yet available for the Fantom X6, but I just downloaded the Logic EXS files, and re-mapped the raw WAV's. You can get them from here: http://www.vstream.be/PolymoogKeyboard.html They all sound great!
