Which one do You like more: the Fender Stratocaster or the Gibson Les Paul?
Both are the most successful, most important (and two of the oldest) solidbody guitars in the world.
Which one do You prefer?

... I really can't decide. But since I already have an Ibanez "modern strat" I think I would go for the Les Paul. Although I know that an original Fender Strat and an Ibanez can't be compared.

Up to now the Strat is clearly in front of the Paula.

strat is lighter, more versatile.
A les Paul is heavy, no vibrato, and specific sound. You dont need a Les paul unless you look for a specific sound.

Some weeks ago I played a Les Paul in a store. I mostly play while sitting, and the Paula is quite uncomfortable then. But great nonetheless.
I really don't know. But since I also like to play clean chords I now think the Strat would fit better.
You know: I need both .

I would like to have a Strat like the one Bryan Adams uses in the video to "Can't stop this thing we started". Not because he uses it, just because it looks great.
Or a Les Paul Standard, painted in honeyburst or black. And it needs a pickguard, otherwise it looks as if something would be missing.... .

Those two guitars are great, Mehdi is right. But if I bought I would bought Les Paul. I heard your music so I think You have to buy Strat first.

i know this post is a little late;
i have a strat and an (epiphone) les paul and i dont know which i prefer i use them both as much as each other (maybe the strat a little more) so i voted for 'love both'

After all I have turned completely to the strat or strat-like guitars. I just need to have a tremolo and I like clean sound more when I use a single coil and not a humbucker.

i love playing about with the trem arm in the outro of songs so i do like the strat more for that, but live i said i play both of them as much as each other

I just wanted to say that the search is over. I have bought a Fender Strat some month ago and I like that guitar really a lot! I play it in connection with the Vox Tonelab SE. The best thing is: I have managed to emulate THE Shadows-sound with it !!!
