I have recently got my mitts on a Roland Digital piano with midi and I am looking for a good free soft syth that I can use it with my lap top. Any ideas?

Hi Becca!

This one, Synth1, is perhaps the most popular freeware softsynt
- not the most fancy look, but it sounds great.

PS: You do need a host program (Sequencer) to use it - but I guess you already know that.
If you don`t have one, Reaper is incredible cool - and is so cheap it`s almost a joke (40).

what I'm trying to achieve is to use the piano to "play" the laptop.. so have the laptop as a virtual synth.
