Ha!, so you thought I'd gone away... No such luck!

I've been locked away in my lab for the past 6 weeks building a modular synth banghead

Ahh, questions, questions...

Yup, this is the first time I've built anything to this scale, although I did help a friend of mine build a Transcendant 2000 synth way back in the 70's, Ahh, the era (error) of loon pants and cap sleeve t-shirts... thank God for the Punk Revolution!!!

Gert Lummux (I love that expression), can't remember where it comes from... but I remember being called one while I was living in Sheffield! Mmm, patch cords... spent all day Saturday making them - still not enough cussing and I keep burning my fingers on this dammned soldering iron!

Another Mortgage!!! Nope, this thing comes in at a very nice price of under 400 - I've had an offer to build another, but the guy thought that the 700 I asked for was too steep... As if my time isn't valuable, cheeky beggar!

There's something about the black/orange styling of the ARP MK3's - They're just so-dammned-sexy and sleek!

I did think about using sliders, but there was too much work involved... Besides, I can now proudly wear my BroadWave T-shirt (The BroadWave... ARP... with knobs on!)

Putting more info and samples up tonight...

I have to agree that the MK3 Ody look is the most appealing, like they did with the MK3 2600, Quadra, Omni ll,Avatar & Axxe...good luck matey, loved to see that new machine of yours when it's Finished wink

There are manual trigger switches on both envelopes, but there's also MIDI to CV built in (currently, a hacked Doepfer MCV4, but I'll be ditching that soon for an 8 channel converter), so any MIDI controller can be used.

It works wonders with the ReMOTE 61SL because you can control any of the auxilliary CV outs by re-assigning the CC# on the ReMOTE - I've currently set it up so I can control any CV input on the modular with Velocity, Aftertouch and Expression Pedal.

I've got a seriously battered Crumar Trilogy here, which I may canibalise to make a matching dedicated 4 octave controller... just trying to decide if it's worth the time and effort though.

Maplin sell something called "Quantum Tunneling Cable" - any pressure on the cable changes the resistance - perfect for PPC pads smile

Hi Mo, nice to see you here after such a long time! I put your last years cc-tracks to my mobile phone (rivets & headroom). When it rings now and some of my colleagues ar near to me, they asking me what it is and they want to have your tracks for their phones. Probably a commercial gap you could step into... wink
All the best for you mate! Your project sounds very interesting. Just want to say hello to you, pls. continue with the topic...
