Just updated my Blofeld to V1.11 bemused

V1.11 brings you 128 performance memories, each part can be assigned its own midi channel, layer, split, velocity, tune, de-tune, volume, pan etc.

It's gone from being a powerful little beastie to... Ow!! My ears are bleeding! woohoo

Hi Andy!

That sounds really great!!! smile

I haven`t tried the Blofeld out yet
I can`t remember if you got other Waldorfs
in your collection (or had) - but it would
be great to hear your opinion about the
sound of Blofeld (compared to PPG 2.V
and the Microwave 1 - I own these two myself
- and/or the original PPG...).
I wouldn`t mind if the Blofeld is able to
sound a lot like the PPG 2.V - I really do like
the sound of this great plug in a lot!!!

All The Best!

Hi Jesper,

I've never owned a Waldorf synth before, but I believe that the Blofeld has ALL the wavetables from ALL their previous synths - there's even an option to "Limit" the wavetables, which I think adds some bit crunching to emulate the earlier PPG's.

Waldorf are releasing a new Plug-In synth called Largo (a software version of Blofeld) sometime in the next month or two, but looks like it's going to cost around 230 euros... My advice would be to pay the extra, and go for the Hardware Blofeld and save on your CPU usage. smile

Andy.

Hi Andy!

Thanks a lot for your answer! smile
Yes, it`s true - the Blofeld got all
the wavetables from the MicroWave 1 OS 2.0
and the XT.
Ive heard about the Largo - but I don`t
use softsynths much anymore...I only use the
PPG and Battery. I think I will stay with
the PPG 2.V (when I need those sounds, because
the MicroWave has to go).
I wish you a lot of great hours with the Blo! smile

All The Best!

Your not selling your Waldorf Microwave (Mk1 V.2)
I WILL NOT ALLOW IT!!! mad

You can't...WHY? confused2

I'd never sell mine, took me ages to find a unit in decent enough condition. Although I'll be looking to get a nice backlight for it...(blue or green upon a black background) cool

PS: The reason why I considered it
...well, perhaps I will loose my job
pretty soon...so a little panic and
trying to get some cash was the reason.

Job or not....the MW 1 stays here!!! smile
