I also found it at CD Universe though it said it was from England. I ordered it from CDQuest (along with Still Movements) and will see what happens. I'll let you know.

Hey all

This could all just be a weird coincidence/misspelling on the part of CDQuest since a "Mr No" by John Fox (yes, one x) is scheduled for release on Dec 13. I came across this on a Morrissey forum since his new single is also released that day. Try a search for "John Fox" "Mr No" and you will see what I mean. Still not many unique results though so ...

"Mr. No" doesn't seem a suitable title for Mr. John Fox (single x). He seems to prefer juicier titles such as "Pecker Extender", "Throbbing Love Sausage" and "The Leather Doughnut" eek

But... USA? EMI? How strange....
Rob, please, hunt the foxx and let us know!

Yay!!!!! excited As long as it's JOHN FOXX (two x'es) and not JOHN FOX (whoever that is) writing it!! From the sound of this person's songs perhaps he should have added an "x" instead of taking one away! :p

Come on, Den, what do you say? Let me start you off...

I found a perfect picture
Of a perfect actress
It looked as if
It were taken in the eighties sometime
Judging by the style...

Oh wait...that's another song... laugh :p

EMI have advised me that there are no plans (at the moment) for this to be released on CD.

Label : New Religion
Distributor : EMI
Catalogue Number : REG 113
Release Date : 13th of December, 2004
Order your copy on-line at either : http://www.phonicarecords.com or http://www.piccadillyrecords.co.uk

Thanks for the info, Rob!

I came back from a holiday week at this moment and your mail was the first I read.

So it seems we have to wait longer for another masterpiece (Cathedral Oceans3, Urban Motets...) from John, because this item is only a remix from another guy...

SO LET US HOPE FOR 2005!!!!

I'm sure John have some surprises for us in his bag.....

Have just visited this site - www.puregroove.co.uk - and placed order for 12". You can listen to a snippet, the original Mr No changed after a couple of seconds into a completely different song, and the remix version consists of 30 seconds of 'Mr. No' being sung through a vocorder! nteresting, one for the purists i think.
Cheers

Hey y'all

My copy of "Mr No" arrived last Wednesday on my doorstep (literally - I had been away the night before and it was just standing there, asking to be nicked - I ought to complain, what if I'd been away for several days? These things ain't gettin any cheaper! mad <img border="0" alt="[Pissed]" title="" src="graemlins/pissed.gif" /> - must be temporary-postal-worker-for-Christmas syndrome).

Have just played it today - I think the remix is a fairly faithful update of the original for the times we live in. Not too sure about the vocodered vocals but overall not bad at all.

I went through a long phase of hating remixes but the recent Depeche Mode set has got me right back on the collectors' treadmill

cheers

Hi
My remix of Mr No arrived today and I dusted my turntable. It hadn't been used for yonks (A long time). I played John's original version first. Then I listened to the Joakin mix. I don't like the vocoder very much saying "Mr No" otherwise on the whole it is passable. Sometimes things are best left alone. I'm glad that I didn't waste an awful lot of money on it.
For some of us oldies a "hit or a miss". I think the program was Juke box jury but I might have the wrong program. In my opinion it's a miss.

I wonder what John thinks of it???????

I admit I haven't heard it, but I'm just wondering "why Mr.No?"

It seems like an extremely obscure song to remix and release as a single - at least in my opinion, when there are so many more great vocal songs to choose from.

Then again the obscurity thing might have been the idea and I missed the point! laugh

No, I haven't ordered a copy.
I'm not a big fan of remixes - only if the master himself would put his hands on it.

I think, I will listen to it on my next visit at Peter's flat. I'm not so keen of it.

John told me that he'd approved the remix - AFTER he'd heard it.
