Although the Turnaround time on some DVD'S can be quick from the time they are filmed,i wasn't expecting to see this one emerge this year.
The average time seems to be about a year...so given that we have already had a lot of output this year,i reckon the DVD release will coincide with next Springs tour dates.

Well I'll be buying it whenever it comes out. Looking forward to it very much.

Those of us in far-flung places (I was unable to afford the nigh-on three grand it would have cost me to see even one of the RTE shows) will be overjoyed as and when this DVD appears.

I'll be buying it come hell or high water!!!

Considering Lament and U-Vox were relased a couple of weeks ago, and knowing it took No-Man over a year to release their DVD of the August 2008 London's Bush Hall concert, I think MickF is right and we probably can expect the DVD somewhere around April next year.

The last 6 Gary Numan live DVDs that have been released have all been the 'full' gigs plus they contain lots of bonus features,interviews,galleries etc.

I have a feeling that Ultravox may put out a 'live'cd of the Roundhouse first:The whole set,and then an edited DVD, but with 'Extras'...as is the way.

That isn't the way normally, it's generally an edited Live CD due to 80 minute time constraints followed by a longer if not full set DVD.

Funnily enough i was thinking about the OMD scenario..CD release ahead of the DVD.I suppose one of the problems is how to format it etc.

And as a 2 x DVD/CD set, by the looks of it - and was that a mention of Chrysalis I saw there So, it looks like it is going through EMI rather than someone else, which is rather neat, I think.

The deal with EMI was only signed last week, so no, we're not withholding anything! Final details are yet to be confirmed, there will be an official announcement as soon as it's all sorted. You know we don't like to give out inaccurate info.

So, April 5th it is then. I suspect that the forum will fall silent for a few hours while we are all watching the masters at work. Only five short weeks to go until we reach the glorious day

April 5th falls on Easter Monday. I think I speak for us all when I say it will be a long weekend. And no amount of Easter eggs will distract my mind from those two five inch rotating digital discs. Saturday through to Sunday evening will be almost unbearable as, how could we forget, Vienna could be at the number one spot in the charts (where it belongs) The celebrations from that will lead us all nicely into Day zero . Ah, the bliss.....

Hopefully it's a 2cd and 1dvd set, as if it's one of each the whole show wouldn't fit on one cd !

Yes... i hope so, there's a few bands i like Nightwish, Within Tempotation etc and they put out tour dvds and it was 1 dvd and 2 cds... in fact more and more i feel bands with a dedicated fanbase such as Ultravox have are making the full version available as an audio and makes sense too...

lt could be styled on the midgeure*live cd & dvd, where the dvd is of the roundhouse gig and the cd contains songs from the other gigs

Thats the impression I got at the time, that they were recording every gig and going to compile the best recordings for the cd.There were definitely ambient microphones present at the Hammersmith gig and from some of the photos I remember other gigs as well.

If you order from Play they usually send stuff out before release date usually you get it the Saturday before if your lucky.

Paul - the ambient Mics were used for the In Ear Monitoring that the whole band used (as opposed to floor wedges) to add "atmosphere" to the sound the band hear in their IEM and were not part of any recording set up. When the show at the Roundhouse was recorded approx 10 mics around the balcony were used to capture the crowd noise. A quantity of the rest of the shows were recorded but just as a L&R off the FOH desk direct to CDR and as such are not multi tracks and not "remixable".....

Seriously can't wait for this - yes 5 weeks ages away - but we've waited a year!!! wow!!! how time flies! ahh the excitement is killing me - i'm not getting through any of my coursework due lack of concentration and mass excitement for April - gigs, PF3/messengers, DVD, and maybe even a no 1. Is there anything else that could happen to make this even better - I'd never have imagined this lot so far....
