I work - amongst other things - in the theatrical world (dahlings) and am well used to folks expressing a genuinely enthusiastic and positive interest in a show or event and then, for whatever reason, never quite getting around to coming along. I understand this. I've done it myself. If I'm in the cast, I don't care too much. Outnumbering the audience has a certain tactical advantage to it, even if I am bought fewer drinks afterwards.

This, however, is a little different. Actually, it's a lot different. Not least, it may never, never be repeated. Never. Not EVER! In addition, it has to be the most stonkingly good hors d'oeuvres to the evening gig that ever could be imagined, and at a venue the significant reputation of which will render later stories of "I was there!" all the more satisfyingly chewy and meaty (vegetarian metaphor available upon request).

Why am I blethering on like this, apart from it being my default mode and me being currently traumatised by having spent the night in what felt like Avenue Q on acid (but that's another story)? It's because I want to urge anyone who has expressed an interest in this fantastic event to take that step and BUY TICKETS NOW. Don't wait until the day to get them on the door because a). There may be none left, b). They'll be more expensive, and d).If you have the ticket(s) NOW it puts the event into REAL time and your attendance is something you don't even have to think about and YOU WILL COME and YOU WILL BE DELIGHTED. Plus, if you come along, I'll tell you what "c)." was.

"Why should you care, you silly, hairy-looking man?", I hear you cry. Well, selfishness, really. The magic of last year will not be repeated the same way this time around. There's only one first time. However, this . . . this is the new magic and to experience it in a packed environment, with folks all of whom love what they're there for (apart from the odd granny / chaperon / carer there by accident, legal necessity or out of the need for a nominated driver) - well, that would be magnificent, rousing and just bloody great. Of course, if the Hammy gig will be your first chance to catch the lads themsleves, then adding the MESSENGERS / PF3 gig to your shopping basket could give you an experience beyond your dreams. The bands bring the songs. We bring the atmosphere.

So, if you're coming from abroad, add this to your itinerary without a second thought. If you're coming from the UK, likewise, just buy the tickets and make a Sunday of it. The more the merrier, a UN of electro-glee can be ours! Let's sell this thing out and get people talking and worried about what they're missing!

This will be good, whatever. It's up to us just how far off the scale the needle can go.

I'm in. In fact, I'm only going to the Voxgate and giving the gig itself a miss (I'll have been to two by then and that'll have to do)!

Wow Osty. Given how 'out there' a show Avenue Q is, this thought defies imagination. I think you should go and have a lie down, for your health and sanity as otherwise you'll surely lapse into joining the 'Bad Idea Bears' for an encore. Anyone from Twickenham/Richmond area heading in to the Voxgate ?
I am planning on maybe flying down from Scotland on the Sunday morning and stay with relatives, but would prefer to travel in to central London with someone who knows the rail/tube links(so I dont get lost in the Big Smoke).

I'll be driving in from Oxford with Rob so alas no help there, but it'll be great to see you there, Brian!

A couple of updates to give you since the event was set up. Party Fears Three will now start the afternoon with a slightly longer set than had originally been planned (extended for, ahem, 'tax and artistic' reasons), and Colin King from Messengers has hinted that he and Danny have a couple of surprises up their sleeves for their appearance. What could it be? We don't know ourselves, but more reasons to make sure you don't miss out on seeing these two great bands though we think...

A great big thanks, in advance, to everyone coming along to the Voxgate @ the 100 Club this coming Sunday, and especially to Cerise, Rob, Paul and Pippa for organising this long distance Ultravox support slot for us and Party Fears 3.

We'll do our very best to make it a memorable afternoon, Colin has been in heavy training and each morning, at the crack of dawn, can be heard refining his yodelling technique from atop Ben Lomond, while I am busy fashioning a Revox substitute from bits of Lego, Meccano and Gaffa tape. All that aside, you could take us out of the equation and it would still be the ideal aperitif for the main (ULTRAVOX) course! PF3 rock the Eighties and I will be lapping it all up from my post, at the bar!

So, to everyone who's coming along......get a good nights sleep on Saturday, because Sunday promises to be one full day.

For those not going - bad luck!

Due to various circumstances involving my friend and his girlfriend (don't ask...) who were supposed to be coming with me to Hammersmith show and also possibly the 100 Club, I've had to hold off purchasing tickets to the 100 Club Voxgate event. However, it looks like I'll now be meeting just my friend at Hammersmith for the gig only, so there's still a chance that I can go to the 100 Club!

I've just checked the wegottickets website and there are none available to buy. Are there still any left that can be purchased on the door? Can I pre-order one somehow so I can save myself a couple of quid (three shows this weekend is getting very expensive!)? I also don't want to turn up only to find that tickets are unavailable and that I'll have 4+ hours to kill before the main event...
