Yes please for me on the directions front. And can anyone who's local tell me how many minutes walk it is from Birmingham New Street to the Symphony Hall? The last train I can get back is 23.09 and I don't really want to leave the gig early Thanks Mandy

By the quick route it's about 10 mins but that involves walking under a flyover. Maybe not great at 11pm. The longer route takes 15 mins but you might want to allow 20.

It will be quicker by cab but not loads quicker. The cab will have to drive round the one way system. Don't worry about the city centre, it's pretty safe.

Gas Street is first left after the Walkabout (going out of birmingham). If you search on Google maps then click on street view, you can walk it virtually. The pub backs onto the Canal. It has several rooms. I suggest meeting in the first one you come to as you go down Gas Street.(first entrance) Google maps link Tap & Spile 10-16 Gas Street Birmingham, B1 2JT 0121 632 5602 Link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...836230145013423 If you look left on street view the White building with the man painting is the Tap & Spile. Also I remember Cerise's post about last years Voxgate http://www. Ultravox.org.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=14;t=000087;p=3 May be best to ring them. There are plenty of other places to eat nearby on Broad Street.
