Interesting...

So, the bad bits... we've got to wait until November for the new album, which now features 2 songs we've already got. And I thought "Impossible" was a much better title :-/

Why include those 2 tracks when there was such a huge list of works in progress?! Maybe they'll be different to the versions we have?

Either way I'm still REALLY looking forward to it. Feels like it'll be the album of the year. And the prospect of a UK tour in November sounds great! I'll be there!
I hope......

And the film festival performance sounds really exciting!

I will try to get to the november tour but my health is worse than when i missed the tour a few months ago frown
The 'From Trash' title is better as 'Impossible' was very dispairing where as 'From Trash' could give a sign of what is possible IMO.

Bugger!!!!!! mad
Oh well, I'll have to do some more!

I thought Impossible was a much more catchy, memorable and interesting title. Quite original.

From Trash sounds like some recycled old Foxx lyric, although I can understand its relevance from John talking about the way he works on the Hidden Man CD - I think he said something about salvaging ideas from trash or something along those lines. So that I understand, and of course the track itself.

But I still feel Impossible is a great song and would have been an ideal title track, had the album still been called Impossible. From Trash is just some sort of Crash & Burn.

...and I've just noticed "Your Kisses Burn"... is this another song we already know?! Mind you it was by far the best track on the Nation 12 album, at least for me. It will be nice to hear an updated/finished version.

How about this bit....

'In the next 18 months John Foxx is releasing a series of new electronic albums, plus his entire back catalogue will also be re-issued including many previously unheard tracks and alternative versions.'

Does this really mean that everything from Metamatic onwards will given 'the treatment'?

Looking at The Hidden Man, it says that 'Freeze Frame' is an extended version, so that will be different on the new album.
I'm glad Running in Traffic isn't on there (so far anyway) otherwise it would duplicate ALL the stuff on The Hidden Man.
Interesting at that is the most different of the songs (and far the best) so perhaps doesn't fit with the overall design principle (more like a B side?)
Perhaps From Trash is a kind of promo for the album as in the old days a 'single' might have been.

But you know what track lists are like round here - I wouldn't believe it until I see the album in my hand. So many mistakes have been made in the past.

I expect we'll be invited to pre-order the album next week in time for deliveries in the New Year...

Cynical? Me?? wink

Further to the other announcements on myspace:

Shame about the typos in the Mojo review.
Did it go to press like that??

'Never Let me Go' is one of the tracks mentioned in the 'Seductive Whirlpools 2' by Simon Sellars.

Ah, you're right... I did wonder about the relevance of that when I got the CD. I do like the song.

That's very true.

Yeah, good point. THough I think it would have been a wise move to mention something like "from the forthcoming album..." on the artwork.
