Just been an ad on ITV1 for Edinburgh to Newcastle £9 one way.... nationalexpress.com (train) might be worth while checking for the journey back down?

I've been really organised with my Ultravox tickets & the hotels, but I just know that when I try to book my train tickets for the Hammersmith and Roundhouse shows it will probably cost a fortune....sods law. banghead

For anyone on a budget -

try www.megabus.com/uk

Although they havent got their Easter timetables online yet ,

they are offering Newcastle -> Edinburgh at between 5 and 10 pounds return

or london -> edinburgh for around 25 pound return

I havent used them before , so cannot comment on how good/comfortable their buses are.

Just booked the train tickets. Last week when I looked the cheapest I could get for two people was £89 return so thought about taking the car. Today it was £57 for the two of us - two singles costing £39 from the Toon to Edinburgh and two singles for £18 back again on the Saturday. smile

I thought the tickets would get more expensive the longer I left it. I was tempted to leave it a bit longer to see if the prices dropped further but knowing my luck they'd only go up again.
Roll on April 10th. laugh

I'm going to be there, Don ... we're staying at a place called 'Rodney Apartments' (where else? ) after getting back from our trip to Skye and Lewis, so drop me a line if you blokes organise a meet-up place beforehand. I'll buy you boys a fizzy drink nervouslaugh .

I've got two tickets in Row H ... should be in front of Chris, if the band have the same stage set-up as back in the eighties.

Just got our train tickets sorted with the help of the new plastic...looks like no cheaper advance tickets to Edinburgh from where we are... so pricey! However I finally found trains to get us home from Glasgow on the 12th so woohoo we are going to the Glasgow gig after all! laugh It means going to Manchester Piccadilly instead and then getting a train to Crewe but its a lot cheaper than journey up to Edinburgh.
Just got to see which if any of the other gigs are viable costwise now!

Sounds like a good suggestion to me, Helen.....next to the venue and if we decide to join a pre gig meet-up it would be very convenient for us since we are booked at the Holiday Express Inn over the road.

Hi All,

Unfortunately due to the credit crunch I can no longer afford to go to this gig (still going to the Manchester one though). If anyone wants my ticket check out this link to the For Sale part of the forum :

NOT NECESSARILY!!!!!!!!!

I happen to book tonloads of flights a year. Every now and then, a sudden, unexpected offer may come up, as happened to me yesterday:

The cheapest flight to Embra I found was € 250 (BA). It was the cheapest so far. I'd been looking at it for about 1-2 weeks, hesitating. Then, yesterday, the cheapest was a not only € 180 but also a Lufthansa flight (Iberia was TOTALLY out of question)!!! laugh

THEREFORE: KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN, FOLKS!

Okké, I've got spare tickets for Embra, so I'd like to have 1 for Glasgow. Anyone swopping??? Transaction to be finalized in situ in Embra, of course, no worries.

Don: Mille is definitely not coming. Shame really. But my flight is herewith booked!

And Dex (on his avatar photo) does not look like Chris de Burgh, despite the remote resemblance of the eyes. wink

Okké, happy to meet those of you I have never met so far. And happy to look into shining, happy faces!

After half [edit: a quarter of] a century will feel weird to watch Uuuuuuuultravox again (pronounced the Finnish way, "Ooooolllltravox", like in this Italian show on youtube)! laugh

Now that depends, amongst others, on... ÖSTERREICHER II... It's the TOUR START after A QUARTER OF A CENTURY... and he's still DOUBTING whether he came make it... eek

Especially now... that he knows that THE THIN WALL is absolutely danceable n everything. Shame that the venues are SEATED, though. I don't understand a thing. arnie

Okké, and regarding haggis and the climate, well... they can be ignored, I guess... buahahahaha!!!!

I will put up a recent photo as soon as possible! If you want to see what the Dexmeister looks like now, check out the Black Rose tavern website and go to gallery and hit "Metal central".( Ohh how times have changed!! ) And Don mate, Spoke to Paul of ( Citrus club )fame, the one who shares your surname,he was interested in this forthcoming reunion gig,but doubts he can make it.

Mr Chaplow and my good self are staying at the Apex International on Grassmarket from April 9th until April 11th.

We will most certainly spend some time in the Last Drop pub opposite the hotel. Somehow this always ends up being my local when I'm in Edinburgh!

Can anyone tell me if the mosque up near the university , behind the chambers street museum, is still doing food ?

They used to do the best lunch time curries for around 3 or 4 pounds

Unusual restaurant attached to the Edinburgh mosque, not too far away from the city centre.
Seating is outside under a simple covering to keep the rain off.Curries are wonderful, good large serving ( on paper plates ) and very cheap.
I always found it best for a good cheap lunch.

Just found this website , which should give yuo an idea of what to expect
