Isn't it really sad that Newcastle have been relegated after a troublesome season caused by that idiot Mike Ashley. I'm sure our resident pigster has been laughing his trotters off. biglaugh

The funniest thing was the Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Pougatch interviewing Alan Shearer & saying "No disrespect to them, but you will be playing SCUNTHORPE next season". Brilliant. roflmao

I am peed off that no mention was made of the Scottish Division 1 Play Off Final between Airdrie & Ayr Utd. mad Had to wait until this morning to find out The Honest Men are back in Div 1. Roll on next season. mexican

I hope Burnley beat Sheff Utd today as it will bring back memories of Burnley being in the top flight when I was a child. Aah - Happy Days.

I was chatting with a fellow RH presenter just now - he's going to the game after his show as a neutral but his mate is a huge Burnley fan.

Good to see more Scottish representation in the top flight of English football. Okay , technically Owen Coyle played for Republic of Ireland , but he was born in Scotland and played most of his career in Scotland

OH is a Celtic fan and a lot of the fans don't have alot of time for him at all. However fair play to him, rather than let a whole "will he/won't he go" debate emerge (which is always damaging to clubs) he fell on his sword pretty quick. OH wasn't that fussed with him either way - they could be managed by Paddington Bear as far as he's concerned as long as they win things roflmao I was informed last night that apparently I'm going to some Cup Final next weekend in Scotland...... Junior Scottish Cup - Clydebank (Manager: Budgie McGhie - I kid you not) -v- Auchinleck Talbot.....

Why? Strachen had won six titles in four seasons, including the league for three consecutive years? I don't understand at all why any supporter would be happy for a manager to leave based on that record.

bemused

Not 100% sure what the main reason is. I don't think he was a Strachan fan full stop. Plus the fact they practically handed the title to Rangers with a couple of games to go.

He won them trophies consistently for several seasons - the reason given may just as well have been 'because he didn't buy the right brand of teabags'. If that's what Celtic supporters think of a manager who actually wins them trophies, then pity the poor bloke who's next in the job and has to deliver against the previous guys record.

sad

same with any Rangers or Celtic manager.

Gordon Strachan is one of those guys you either love or hate. He can come over as a bit of a t*** in some of his interviews.
Plus he bought in some good young players, but then kept them in the reserves rathar than playing them in the first team which upset a lot of the supporters ( case of fans thinking they could do a better job than the manager ) .

Ironically, not long after Sheff Utd finished in 2nd place in the Championship final, the final record of my radio show was "When Love & Hate Collide" which finished at no.2 in the charts by said Sheffield band!!!

Now,Snashy,,I never knew you were a fan of Ayr utd! I know I should support either them or Kilmarnock seeing as I was born in Irvine, but I've lived in Edinburgh since 1980 and support Heart of Midlothian.Anyway folks, not bothered if Rangers win the duraglit that goes with the silverware or if Celtic get Bob the builder as manager.I'm trying to keep away from a downhearted colleague MUFC fan,,not long met one similar colleague and he's taking it out on the clinical waste bins already!!

I became a fan of The Honest Men whilst on holiday in that lovely seaside resort in 1985. They played a home friendly against Celtic & lost 2-1 - Celtic's 2nd coming in the final 5 mins. We met the club secretary who took mine & my brothers' autograph books & arranged for them to be passed round the dressing room. The guy who ran the club shop which was basically a shed gave us a load of free programmes. It was the 1st ever football match I went to & I was an Ayr supporter from that day. I still have the 4 page 10p prgramme & autograph book. Aah - Happy Days!! laugh
