Thats a tough one Alex. We can only guess! confused At least John still makes good music, whatever his age and that is all that counts.
About time for some new sounds. We've waited now for over a year. banghead

My psychic readings lmao clearly prove that he's born in 1953 and that his starsign is Libra.

The only clue I have as to what his age might be is in this interview I have with him where he mentions having seen Jimi Hendrix when he was 13 or 14. So that would narrow it down to being somewhere between 1967-1970, wouldn't it? I'm guessing somewhere closer to '67, since any later would make him a few years younger than the others.

Here's the link to the interview. It's quite interesting.

Well, that's funny!
I was just joking, of course, but I wanted to believe that John was born exactly 10 years before me (Oct 9, 1963).
Now, after your remark, I discovered that Midge was born on Oct 10, 1953! Missed by just one day... I will remember his birthday from now on.
I don't know much about starsigns... I will ask our resident psychic/esoterist (Meriseth) for a consultation.
Cheers,
Luca

Luca - Excellent, LOL!

Mrs X - website says 'Service Unavailable' at the mo, but the interview sounds great! Will check it again, maybe it's a temporary fault. Interesting re: Jimi Hendrix tho - I'm pretty sure that John is a few years older than the others. Maybe he was stretching the truth a little to disguise his age!! The others have been known to do that... wink

Damn it, you're right! It says "Service Unavailable" for me too! confused It didn't when I posted that though! (I wanted to double-check the information so I didn't end up posting something erroneous!) Strange... Sorry about that! I hope it comes up too, because it was quite good!! frown

Agreed. Seems a particularly candid and well structured interview.
The Dussledorf 1970 thing is interesting - sheds a bit of light on the meaning of the whole Ultravox sound especially, but also the value of innovation and the evolution of a sound over time.

How many 13-14 yr olds now would even think of hitching to London to see a band???

So John was a child prodigy!! (Come to think of it, I'm sure I've read somewhere that he really was!)

Let's see then... "Ain't Misbehavin'" was about typical adolescent behaviour, and "Monkey Jive" was about...er...pleasuring oneself? eek

JF does not have a date of birth. He was manufactured in a German town called Disslediff by the alien robot cult called Kriftwok (Chinese electronic chefs). He was then shipped to Chorley in 1901 and remaineded hidden in a pie shop until 1980 when he was attached to another robot called Garth Jinns. They lived in a small factory called "Paarthway Stoodios" located in London Village and made electronic warblings to make other people follow them way into the next century (these people are now over weight and balding).

The rest of the band were all born in 1952 apart from Midge who was born in 1953. I am sure that Chris was born on 14th July, Warren on 20th May, Billy in April sometime (Aries) and Midge on 10th October, somebody posted correct information here.

I was well into the band back in the 80s when a teenager and those are the years you just absorb everything like a sponge. I knew so much irrelevant shit about those guys back then that somebody suggested that I went on one of those TV quizzes to answer only Ultravox questions HAHAHA insane stuff looking back.

I went to see "Ultravox" play the forum in the 90s sometime but the only original member was Billy so it was ok but not as magic as if they had all been there. I had a chat with Billy afterwards and I asked him about the rest of the guys but he didnt know anything about Warren and he told me that Chris had moved to the Shetlands and had opened a geese farm. That was wild! Does anybody here know if that is correct? Maybe I should post in the Chris Chross forum...

But if you know something, let me know. I am not obsessional about them anymore, grown up and all that haha but I am still curious to know what happened to Chris and Warren.

Cheers or as they say in Norway, Skål! Px

As I said earlier, a feature around the time of The Garden said he was 28. Therefore he would be 51 now. Thus born in '53. I agree with Patrizia.

In his bio on his website, he only states that: "I was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, 1950." I'm sure that his birthdate was on his questionnaire page in the Info section of the old EV site, but of course, it's not there now...

Lucky girl!
A cousin of a friend of mine had a similar adventure at the airport in Rome, same year. John was there, coming home after one of his Cathedral Oceans performances at the Giardino Botanico (of which I knew nothing, dam***). If I want to meet John I have to chase him around the world...

Ah... 51 53 1953... in Italy we call this "dare i numeri" (give numbers) that means "going mad".
But... ARIES?!? Odd... He looks more like Gemini to me.
