Couple of questions.

Although I have read that Nation 12 recorded music for THREE Bitmap Brothers computer games I can only find evidence for Speedball 2 and Gods. The third is "The Chaos Engine" - or is it? Is this the "Bonus Beats" track?? An engineer contact of mine who worked on all the soundtracks for Amiga does not recall any Foxx input on this one, but memories are hazy...
Incidentally, on the Sega version of Gods, John Foxx is credited with music, not Nation 12 although it is Nation 12 on all other platforms?
I had a look at their web site recently
(http://www.bitmap-brothers.co.uk)
and while there's no sign of the music, you can at least see the "Music By Nation XII" writing on the picture of the Gods box

And has anyone any idea perhaps where the name Nation 12 comes from?

Hi,
IMHO the web is full of erroneous info...until you find unmistakable evidence of the contrary, I suggest you to assume that Nation 12 wrote the soundtracks for just 2 games.
If you look at Visage discographies, they constantly list the mythical "Beat Boy" german cd, adding "ultra-limited", "just a handful made" and so on...but it was never released.

The "Remember (bonus beats)" is a track appeared on one of the 2 versions of the Remember 12".

Btw, the Nation 12 subject has been discussed several times on this forum:

Thanks Roger.

I read these threads, they didn't help. I've been researching into John Foxx's music and career for a while now and you are so right - the web is full of c**p and I take nothing for granted now unless I can find interviews or original sources.
It's fun looking though!
The name interests me. I've run it through search engines and nothing obvious comes to mind.
I'm looking at the career and biogs of Tim Simenon too though now, so maybe light will be shed there...
I agree that only two soundtracks exist to computer games, but the reference to the third came from an Al Crawford source and that's usually as respectable as u can get. I shall keep looking.
I read also somewhere that 13 songs were recorded as Nation 12. There are 5 referred to here "remember" "electrofear" "listen to the drummer" "brutal deluxe' and "into the wonderful" (more if you count the remixes)...
ho hum

Hi...
an example of erroneous info:

http://invisionfree.com/forums/thefall/index.php?showtopic=2177

According to this guy a "single" called "Brutal Deluxe" was released by Nation 12. It just doesn't exist.

MetaMatrix: the game "Speedball 2" (1991) has "Brutal Deluxe" as subtitle, so I guess you could find the Nation 12 soundtrack music sometimes called "Speedball 2" and sometimes "Brutal Deluxe".

birdsong: about "The Chaos Engine", found this message here:

Subject: John Foxx Nation 12

For the person who wrote about John Foxx and Nation Twelve, you might like to know that they contributed the soundtracks to at least three computer games, from Renegade Software / The Bitmap Brothers. They are (drum roll)- Speedball 2, Gods, and The Chaos Engine. I've heard them all, and The Chaos Engine is probably the best of the lot.

Maybe we should ask directly to Mr. Pomeroy...

Or maybe we could just trust this informative page, according to which Nation 12 did the music for just "Gods" and "Speedball 2"
http://www.gods-country.de/tcr/tcr_bros.htm

...oh, and they remixed the soundtrack for "Magic Pockets"...so maybe we should look out for this remix banghead
