Now we have a list of dates for John's latest concert tour, which concert will you be attending? smile

I shall be going to the Scala in London. Perhaps before the concert begins we could have a get together in the Sahara Nights pub similar to the last time John played there?

I read thread about Ion-ah having a sickie and doing the complete tour, however much I'd love to do everynight, I don't think my wife will be too keen.

Amsterdam - Paradiso 65.

The only chance for me to see John & Louis live...

Rob, is it true the gig will happen?
I looked at the concert list of the Paradiso yesterday but it was not listed in...

I want to order my ticket 'cause I start for a holiday week today...

I'll be attending the Liverpool gig for sure!

I saw John at the Liverpool Royal Court in '83 and at the Liverpool Barfly in '03 but alas missed his support slot with the Human League due to other commitments. So I damned well won't be missing this !! Andy

Rob, many thanks for your information. I E -mailed the Paradiso 65 this morning but can read the answer first on Friday evening - ''cause I start for a week at the eastern coast in the next moment.

I wished I could stay with you all together at the Scala!!, but for the explained reason on "Foxx Tour " I can only go to Amsterdam show.

At least, it would be the first show - so if any informations wanted about that gig - I could post it here...
I'm glad John & Louis play in Amsterdam - otherwise I would be the "LUCKY LOOSER".
wink

Bye - see you all here Friday

Cardiff/Caerdydd...capital city of Wales...home of the new, improved Dr Who!

I'd better set the timer now so that my re-animation is completed in a timely fashion.

I want to chill...but I need to thaw first....

Assuming I'm not still in some far flung corner of the globe scratching out a living I'll be attending the Scala Concert this year.

Last time I had my ticket and then ended up working in India instead. banghead

Might also venture farther afield, again depending on work commitments.

Well John is from Chorley, but they're not playing there either...

...so at least there is equality in non-home-ground stampage...

I'm still jazzed about Cardiff!

If I lean out of my window I can just about see the venue...

....and my neighbours...

I'm torn between Scala and Notts. It would be great to meet up a Sahara Nights again, and bump into Metalbeat once more, but it's a shame ol' Brummie Rich can't make it, as it would be nice to catch up, so not sure if a Friday night in Notts isn't preferable. Might do both!
Cheers

I'm going to try and get to the London gig. I'm going to avoid Wolverhampton as I lived there for 12 years and still haven't worked out why. This will be the first time I've seen John since the Tin Can Club in Digbeth, Brum in 1984! My how I've changed since my then 16 year old self...

The myspace blog says that there's a chance of a Toronto show in the fall. That's a five hour drive from Ottawa, but I'm already working on convincing my wife that we need to make the trip (she doesn't mind his music but doesn't have any particular interest in it, either). An old friend of hers lives in Toronto and her hometown is London (Ontario), which is just another two hours down the 401, so we'll probably combine a few things in one trip. Boy, I hope this comes together...

Hey Gloria, do you think it'll work for old men too? - my back's been giving me a bit of jip of late. Perhaps I should re-register as "Not so Young Savage"? laugh Sadly though, Sahara Nights appears to be no more. When I passed by on the bus to work this morning, it was closed and all the signs have been removed. Between now and July I'll do a little reconnaisance and try and find another venue to suggest for pre-Scala meet.

Cheers!

It works, it works! My teacher, by the way, is a man. Some women feel shy at belly dancing with a male teacher, but it's just like at the doctor's!

Thank you both for the wishes.
Oh yes - it was very stressful 'cause I haven't known for a long time what was going on. It was a strange feeling all the UK fans had ordered their tickets as the Amsterdam show was not incl. in the list of the club.

BUT AT LEAST IT WORKED OUT FINE FOR ME!! excited

And it would be a pleasure for me to give a report of John's first show of this tour , incl the set list - if you want to know it. Perhaps there are one or two who won't know this before their own concert?

I also hope I can make some good photo shots. It will be send to Rob then for the Metamatic site - like all the other stuff I sent him.

WOW - I'm totally happy I got my tickets. laugh

Digging up this old thread, partly because it is getting steadily closer, partly because after much deliberation I have decided upon Brighton. Hope to see some of you there. smile

Anyone thinking of going to Pressure Point in Brighton?
Tickets NOT available from the venue, but from a local record shop.
Sorry Rob, details posted at metamatic.com have been superceded.

Phone no: - 01273 325440

See you there!
Last night of the tour - should be excellent

I bought my ticket for Pressure Point in Brighton on-line. But yeah you'll be able to get them from Rounders.

As me & Miss Pain are supposedly DJ-ing between bands,
feel free to post requests! LOL smile
(I will of course ignore them and just play old Van der Graaf Generator records, but you can try ;-)

I know we don't want to post them here and spoil the surprise, but it would be useful if anyone attending these gigs kept a note of the setlist on the night.

I for one don't want to know cos I'm not going till the last night, but its hard to get this kind of info later and we'll kick ourselves if it aint recorded somewhere.

Will be at brighton, and scala. Also may try to get to the limelights one if i know more on the travel side of it.

Making a list of the setlist is one thing, but as Peter said there will probably be other ways to remember the shows too.
