Fascinating. Hmm. I got Natalie Merchant. And oddly enough, Ive been told by some female friends that I would make a really ugly woman.

Ok, after about 5 tries I finally got a man. I look like Glenn Miller, the band leader. I was starting to have some identity issues. Like an old girlfriend once said. " How come your music collection is all white British homosexuals?" To which I replied "No way,it.....oh wow , you're right. ".

Just ran a few more pics of Midge past this, mostly photos from past couple of years with the odd one from few years previous. Results threw up some amusing matches even more daft than the previous ones ie
Kevin Costner (86% match)
Greta Garbo (!)
Katherine Hepburn (!)
Kathleen Turner (!)
John Denver
Blake Lively
Josie Maran
Regis Philbin
Joi ito
Henry Mancini
Javier Solana

And a 1980s pic of Midge still doesn't come up with himself but as Alec Baldwin !

Well, I'm going to try hard to get on with work now and not waste more time playing with this !

Jen, you're not going to get anything of Midge coming up because no-one will have input his data..... they couldn't possibly have everyone. I only knew to test it with Susan Sarandon because her photo had already come up! Incidently we've already had a "who else does Midge look alike" thread on MidgeUre.com.... very amusing, you should check it out!

On the subject of comparisons and to be totally daft which of these characters do you consider you are most comparable to (looks or character LOL) or like best;-

Captain Beaky
Timid Toad
Restless Rat
Artful Owl
Batty Bat
or Hissing Sid

We had great fun with this in the office many years ago - sad I know!

As for me I'll just pick my fav ie Captain Beaky.

LOL You are obviously far too youthful to know Captain Beaky and his Band but not too young to know 'They're coming to take me away ha ha etc etc ....' Sorry, I'm in a silly mood today - life's too short to be serious. Maybe someone on here will remember Captain Beaky! I liked it at the time but what that says about me I don't know especially since I was adult and it was for kids! There again I'm still a big kid or I wouldn't be doing this ! smile

Believe it or not there are lots of sites out there for this but here's the Wikpedia link;-

web page

and this one will give you some of the lyrics

web page

And btw Helen ref your comment 'Incidently we've already had a "who else does Midge look alike" thread on MidgeUre.com.... very amusing, you should check it out!' I remember that and IMHO none of them looked even remotely like him either - shows how unique he is !

Captain Beaky came out just as I was moving into more serious/grown up music. I remember taping Captain Beaky and Tenpole Tudor onto a tiny cheap tape recorder off TOTP in front of the telly trying to keep as quiet as possible...

The bravest animals in the land,
were Captain Beaky and his band,
Timid Toad, Reckless Rat,
Atrful Owl and Batty Bat,
March through the woodland singing songs,
That tell how they have righted wrongs...

*Cue brass section*

Brilliant find - thanks for that trip down memory lane. laugh Haven't heard that in years - Keith Michell's voice was perfect for it. BTW I hasten to add that I was far more into rock and pop music but for some reason this appealed as did The Wombles !! Helen, you really must look at the link so you know what you've been missing all these years!

Well, gave the face recognition site one last shot having finally scanned in a prof portrait of myself from few years back and got an 86% match with Grace Kelly. Certainly better than any other results - I could even see some sort of resemblance between the two photos but if I took it seriously I'd say what went wrong after that.LOL

Grace Kelly, WELL DONE! re: the MidgeUre.com thread.... oh I don't know, I think that Paul Mckenna is an absolute ringer for Midge, I've been caught out a couple of times thinking he was on telly and it's Paul McKenna! Anyway, we know what Midge looks like, lets get back to the topic of the thread..... who do WE look like, who have we been told we look like??!

I would of thought that Helen, if it had not been for my favourite italian pianist. Ludovic Einaudi looks more like Midge than anyone ive seen over the last 27 years!! But he always looks like Midge 'ten years from now'. And as for the piano music.......... bemused

[EDIT] Found its better to ASK wink

I had a 'Hissing Sid is Innocent' badge for a while... shocked

Just tried that photo thing; not too happy with mine either! Tom Sizemore (???) was the top pick, and the mainly male list included Justin Timberlake, Dennis Weaver (with moustache!) and Hugh Jackman. On the plus side, females included Annette Bening, and the ever glamorous Audrey Hepburn laugh

I'll try a few more pics too, I think.

Only just seen this, and the pic's gone now!

It (the programme) clearly doesn't follow a very sophisticated model; I doubt the police would use this, but it's quite funny!
