Rob Brydon. I got bought drinks in a Warwickshire pub this Christmas cos the landlord told people that's who I was and, being able to fake a South Wales accent (at least well enough to convince Warwickshire folk), I thought it a shame to disappoint them . . . Mind you, I've got a better complexion than Mr.Brydon. But he gets more work.

. . . Plus (on a related note) I did some work for a leading banking firm today and one candidate was a dead ringer for Mr.Ure, especially the eyes, although his accent was from about 400 miles further south.

Colin Firth and Ron Weasley don't look anything like each other! I demand to see a photo now right this instant! LOL

Best person i've been compared to: Sharleen Spitteri (when I was a bit thinner) even though she is actually tiny and I'm at least 7 or 8 inches taller than her!
Worst.... I'm actually a fan of this lady, but it wasn't very flattering. I was about 19 or 20 at the time (which wasn't that long ago, infact I was about the same size I was when I was compared to Sharleen Spiteri and I got off a bus at the west end and this guy told me how much he loved my show on channel 4..... turned out he "Supposedly" thought I was Jo Brand..... despite me being about a foot taller, 9 stone lighter and 20 years younger! (cheeky bastard!) roflmao  nutjob

Actually this is a good thread Steven and I'd like to give it a little twist if I may? For those of us who have met in person how about telling who the other member look like? Me personally, I think I look like a taller version of Dawn French, I'm sure those who've met me woud probably agree. I've met a fair few members of the forums over the years, but I'll be kind......

Anybody else think that Mike Lyden looks a bit like Phil Wyman (paranormal investigator and musician)
Don, well he looks like My cousin Dave (see the thread on Monument forum)
that's it for now..... anybody else?

I was told i look like John Foxx; as i said before there may be a slight resemblance if you don't look at us side by side. Personally it's tremendously flattering as i wanted to BE him when i was 18. lol.

Helen - you look a bit like my friend Jane. Sorry i can't provide evidence, as she lives in Brighton and i don't have contact - get the odd bit of second or 3rd hand info on her these days.

Excellent idea Helen.

When I met Ken last year the first person I thought of was Dave Gahan from the Faith and Devotion years.

All I am saying is that you bear a striking similarity to a long-haired Dave Gahan.

Long hair on a guy is quite sexy in my opinion

Some of my friends told me, that I am looking very much like Mike O'Malley... (it's the Jimmy Hughes from the US-sitcom YES DEAR!, you know I don't like sitcoms, but this one is intelligent and I am keen on it, collected all episodes on DVD).
The problem with that is, they told me I am additionally much more like Jimmy Hughes from the series in my mind, don't know if this is a good or a bad sign... confused

ok, I ran the test, mine were......

1/ Isabella Rosselini (83%)
2/ Amber Benson (64%)
3/ Shirley Manson (63%)
4/ Veronica Ferres (63%)
5/ Neve Campbell (63%)
6/ Sara Evans (62%)
7/ Claudia Schiffer (61%)
8/ Jessica Alba (59%)

Do you think they only have a dozen photos on there and they say the same things for the women and the same ones for the men? LOL I don't think I look like ANY of the above and it was the passport photo on here I used! Incidently I don't even known half these folk! I've met Shirley Manson btw, and we have a similar personality and in the past I've been told I sound like her! But looks? errrrrm: NO! lol

Right, I took the liberty of doing these tests for a few folk who's piccies I have.....
Monument\'s Mike

Monument\'s Davy

Monument\'s Don

Monument\'s Tommy

I noticed that it's totally different when you use differnt pictures, so i did mine with 3 different photos just to prove a point.... I don't think any of them were duplicated. Me second attempt (mostly blokes)

Me initial attempt as already discussed

one last time for good measure

Now I was a bit sceptical to say the least, I don't think I look like any of my supposed lookalikes and I certainly dont think Davy looks like Judy Garland or Mike like Boris Karloff etc.... so I decided to try to trick the machine! One of mine had come back as Susan Sarandon (whom I happen to have a photo of taken with the most basic of basic cameras) and guess what... it did recognise her, although only 80% weird, would have thought it woud be 100, but I have to say I was impressed by this, maybe there's something in it after all! Susan Sarrandon
Thanks Steven, I have found a new toy and had great fun with it! Just off to check out my John, see who he comes up as! LOL (better not be uncle fester or buster blood vessel!) bemused

Interesting - I have had the Jim Carrey comment before when my hair was longer (rather than just disappearing). When young and waif-like (i.e. pale) I was told I bore a passing resemblance to Gary Numan. :p
I've also had comments about Jeff Goldblum and Pierce Brosnan. All I can say is thank goodness laser eye treatment is becoming so inexpensive.... confused

Ok so I got tempted to try this too and kinda wish I hadn't - hasn't done much for my self esteem! Tried several very recent pics and the best results I got were no matches. From one result both my gender and race are obviously questionable . What this says about me I really don't want to imagine ! laugh The most semi 'sensible' results were Achinoam Nini (Israeli recording artist), Dalida (Egyptian singer) and Judit Polgar (chess player) whom I look nothing like. My final attempt seems to have crashed the website but will try again with some better photos and hope the site can weather the sight of my visage better next time.

And just for the hell of it I also put in a couple of recent pics of Midge that I'd taken - results were Patrick Swayze and Aidan Quinn (whoever he is) neither of whom he looks remotely like - Midge is much, much better looking. But I was expecting it to come back recognising him as himself !!!

Anyway, thanks Steven for this entertaining link.

PS Just tried the site again with recent pics of my daughter,Midge and me. My daughter came up as Jennifer Love Hewitt,Scarlett Johansson and Preity Zinta (Bollywood actress) ,Midge as Seann William Scott (shows how youthful Midge still looks!)Ben Kingsley and as Robert de Niro ! Result for me was hilarious ie Daniel Day Lewis ! biglaugh

But the daftest comparison was putting in a pic of my late partner because despite the beard and moustache it matched him with Christina Ricci! laugh She'd be mortified!

Jeez you wouldn't want whoever designed this program working in criminology !

In view of its failure to recognise Midge's face as his own,I thought I'd test it with Freddie Mercury surely one of the most recognizable faces there is - it came up with Penelope Cruz!
And Steven this is far too distracting - I had loads to do this morning and here I am sitting here being very 'sad' playing with this!

Yeah I did.

Just noticed there's some more, hang on...

Alexander Graham Bell
George Clooney (hahahaha)
Strom Thurmond (who????)
Graham Hill
Victor Hugo
Dudley Moore (wish I had his wit if nothing else)
Mikhail Bulgakov (eh?)
Cate Blanchett
Bela Lugosi (before makeup before Sleepy tries to get one back...)

Kevin Bacon is deffo the strongest at 74%, the rest early 60's until Blanchett and Legosi with late 50's.

Not really sure what to make of all that. Maybe there's hope for me yet? Or I'm doomed to be a combination of a sinister looking old bloke with a huge beard...
