Is any one from EV going to Camber Sands in April? To be honest it would be a very expensive week-end just to see John especially if you were to go on your own.
Regards
Peter

Grrrr - that Gallo person does make me quite cross!!

This event is totally unreasonably priced. I just read all the small print and it seems you have to book a MINIMUM of FOUR BERTHS in a chalet for THREE NIGHTS(why???) which will cost 480.00.
Add food, beers, electric, petrol etc and I reckon we are looking at 200 per person for this "PARTY"??
That's just crazy - even John Foxx isn't that big a star

Which gives "us" as a forum/fanclub a bit of a dilemma I reckon.

How can we NOT have a representative at the event, which will be a one-off and who knows what material John (with or without Louis) could be playing?

Before I read the details, I was going to make the radical suggestion that between us we raised the ticket price and chose someone to go - Rob being the obvious choice - but now that seems ridiculous too and the event organisers don't really deserve that, I fear.

One wonders if the artists listed to play are aware of the pricing/ four in a chalet only situation which surely must impact on any fans that want to go.
I guess security will be tight too re: recording equipment/cameras, but maybe there is a devious way to blag a press pass or something?

I don't know, I'm ranting (in case you couldn't tell!!) but IMHO its a bl**dy ripoff.
shock arnie

Sorry John frown

Hi
I agree with 100% Birdsong. I read all the small print also, 4 x 120 what a RIP OFF. I quite quickly decided that, like Shadow Man I wasn't doing to attend this event. Even if you could arrange a shared accomodation it's still an expensive week end and I'm not that keen on seeing the other groups. I would guess it's going to be one big p**s up if you like being drunk. I just wonder how the fans of the other groups mentioned feel. As for Camber, it's OK if the weathers nice and you can sit on the beach but there's nothing there if it tips down of rain. If you do go to Camber take a tip from me don't eat in their restaurant. There are a couple of nice cafe outside the complex.

I am going to see John and Harold Bubb in Brighton on the 21st May however it would be nice if John were to do a concert on his own for HIS loyal fans.

A boot of the Camber concert would be nice and if anyone one manages to get one I'd only be too happy to help with distribution.
Regards (not too happy) Peter cussing

Some of the past ATP lineups have been interesting, more generic, such that I would go if I could see 3 or 4 similar bands together with like-minded individuals. I would go if I could curate it myself (I'd probably get in free!). But you might as well go to Glastonbury for that sort of money.

Can't add anything to this; a rip off ! Not sure John is entirely at fault - as nobody is helping him get hits in the charts, he has to make an income somehow. Hope he gets a reasonable cut.

Aye, I never go to ATP as it is,
as it's rather pricey and generally The Fall
are always just playing lmao
John Foxx is a bit of an unusual choice considering
the types that usually play there (i.e., John's never actually been in The Fall, has he?)

Oh well.
Sure I get to see him play just a few hundred yards from my house with Harold Budd pretty soon, so that should make up for it!
